First 2 picks & FA signing????

I dont think we will release Icognito, he stabalizes the left side of the O-line and he is more than servicable, I have actully grown to like icognito, he brings toughness to the O-line, if we cut him then we have 3 holes on the oline, lets just focus on the right side of the oline and leave Long, incog, and pouncy where they are.

I COMPLETELY agree with you, but look at his cap numbers and look at the caliber of players we are trying to bring in. People in this thread are saying Mario Williams? Give me a break. We can't afford it.

I'm not saying I WANT them to cut Incognito, I'm saying they may have to do it. Incognito is on the books for 4 million. Personally? I'd kill to kick him over to the right side and let him play RG which is his natural position, put John Jerry @ RT (he showed flashes while playing LT) and draft someone to pull in the LG position in the 2nd round assuming we grab Reggie Nelson.

If not Reggie Nelson, another huge name out there that not many are talking about is Michael Griffin. Both are really, really rangy FSs

Threads like this help you realize that the average NFL fan doesn't really understand how the nfl operates outside of Madden. Oh you want us to sign the best players AND trade up for the best players in the draft that fill need well thanks I guess.

Also, instead of Mario Williams, most people should be aware of that OTHER pass rusher in Texas, Anthony Spencer. He's an all around line backer and is very capable of rushing the passer. He gives a lot of versatility to a team that might need it in their switch to the 4-3/3-4 hybrid.

Anthony Spencer makes a lot of sense, he had 6 sacks last year and is very good against the run, I would like that signing and it would make sense because Ireland and his dallas connections, also I think Fasano could be a cap causality over icognito, Ireland has mentioned several times that he wants and explosive TE and I think fasano is owed $5million? but dont quote me, we could easily cut fasano and draft fleener, and then resign yeatman to be our blocking TE.

I have a huge party planned for when Miami cuts Incrapito. The guy gets waaaayyyyy to much credit from some Fin fans. He is pure garbage.

desean jackson, grubbs and avril AND REGGIE NELON in FA
DRAFT REIFF AND FLEENER

Im surprised that the majority of people have ignored QB and just looking at next season. IMO we have to draft a QB. We have Philbin & Sherman and in my mind this is the ideal oppurtunity to select a young, raw QB and allow him to sit for 2 years and learn under the new regime.

Just project Brock Osweiler in 2 years time. 2 years of learning the system under 2 offensive minds in Philbin & Sherman and would still only be 23.

Not sure on signing Flynn, but I wouldn't sign manning because there are way to many ifs about him.

If we do sign Flynn, so be it. It may just be the right move. I would also chase Carl nicks pretty hard, and those two would delete the major spots needed in the draft.

Upshaw or Claiborne in the first.
Alshon Jeffrey in the 2nd. He may just slide a bit on draft day

Seriously, Flynn is terrible? That is a blind statement. And Moore doesn't have a weak arm, he has accuracy and decision making issues.
Your response makes no sense... they both have weak arms which is a fact and I'm entitled to my opinion.

I think you need to look at the stats from 2011. Miami/ Moore was in the top 3 for plays 20+ yards. A lot of those were deep passes and not YAC. Can we find a QB superior to Moore? The answer is yes, but your argument is not a good one. Flynn may or may not be the answer. He has a limited body of work and starts in the NFL.
Manning is still a question mark.
IMHO, Moore has a great touch and velocity on deep balls up to 50 yards which is plenty good enough. Where he seems to have trouble is the short passes, probably due to his height 6'2", and some of his decisions checking down when under pressure at a crowded line of scrimmage.
I am comfortable with Moore if we can't land an upgrade. No need to be hasty with the cap, or mortgage the future paying double to move up. If one of the QB's we like is there at 8/9 we should take him, otherwise draft a project like Osweiler and groom him.

This makes no sense at all. Moore does have the arm strenght to make deep passes. As Langer points out as well, Miami was amoung the top teams in 20+ yard plays and our receivers have a low YAC. Not sure where you found the FACT that he has a weak arm. Link please.

Ok and he averaged 192 yards per game and no 300 yard games in 2011. He's a limited weak arm QB that doesn't take over the game with his arm and limits what we can do as an offense. Brandon Marshall allowed Matt Moore to look decent, Matt Moore did nothing to make our offense "explosive" in 2011.

P.S. In his career he averages 136 yards per game and had only one 300+ yard game in his career

FA Signing: Matt Flynn

1st round pick: WR Justin Blackmon
2nd round pick: TE Dwayne Allen

The worst rushing team in the NFL won the Super Bowl. Two of the worst defenses in the NFL played in the Super Bowl. It's about having a QB and a passing game, don't ignore the facts.

Wrong. So Wrong. The examples you are using contradict your cause. The Giants have an elite pass rush and insanely talented 2ndary that is starting to bloom. Phillips,Rolle,Ross,Webster,Amukamura,JPP,Tuck,OSI,Mathias etc..... This team spends alot of its resources on defense and paid FA Bradshaw big money. The team built on passing with sub-par defense ( Pats ) Like you suggest we copycat, got manhandled and outclassed.

Please read what I wrote:

Regarding defense, the Giants defense was 27th and the Patriots defense was 31st in yards allowed. In points allowed the Giants were 25th.

Regarding offense, the Giants were the WORST rushing team in the league. That's the fewest rushing yards in the entire NFL for clarity.

Both the Giants and Patriots are in the top 5 for passing yards.

Don't let the facts get in your way...

I think its funny how some posters project the draft without taking into consideration draft grades. First of all, QB's are almost always drafted ahead of their grade. Tannehill will not be available with the 8th or 9th pick in the 2nd rd. He may even go top 10 to the Redskins (as per some predictions). Allen is unlikely to get out of the 1st rd. This is a copycat league and teams have seen the Pats use their TE's very effectively.
I'm hoping the FO fills the hole at RT/RG though FA and then draft the highest rated defensive player with their 1st pick, be it CB, DE/OLB.
I would even be on board with Trent Richardson if he drops. He wore the same uniform as Ingram, but that's where the similarity ends. He's a much more explosive RB.
