First OC Interview is Today

oh wait...that's the old uva oc lazor??? hells no

the only uva oc that was worth a damn was musgrave

If they make an OC hire before they hire a GM, it might be a hint as to who's on top of the power pyramid ...and it ain't the GM.

Or as it's stated in his contract, Philbin has control over his coaching staff. Philbin is going to be the coach next year. There's a lot of coaching vacancies compared to GM positions. No need to get behind the 8ball for OC because putting all resources into GM search. As I understand the GM doesn't hire the head coach anyways. He has input but decision is on Ross. Ross is a top the 'power pyramid'

First GM interview is Friday so waiting with OC seems like a really good way to miss out on some OC's

I'm pissed that we haven't picked a GM first. The senior bowl is in 2 weeks. Players don't report for a few ****ing months. Let's get some priorities here folks.

And I'm pissed that it looks like Philbin is staying.

I look at Ross and Philbin and think of our team being run by a clown and a dork.

Philbin is picking his OC, Ross is picking the GM. Doesn't matter who the GM if Philbin has final say on his OC.

And ideally, we'll have both the OC and GM in place by the senior bowl.

What do you not like about him? He ran a 2-3 headed QB system, right?

he ran that cause the qbs sucked...offense as i recall was very college like...makes sense he joined the eagles i guess knowing that...i was not a fan...i havent been a fan of anything uvas done coach or coordinator wise since musgrave

better get much more athletic up front if we gonna try and run some of that eagles stuff...our oline in that system would be a nightmare...worse than it is now...you need athletes

anything that uvas had recently i do not want on my pro team

musgrave was good when he ran things...got the most out of what he had

I do not think it is an issue to pick the OC before the GM.

What he's done for Foles in terms of footwork and release is more important than what he did for a average ACC team.

He cut his teeth under Dan Reeves and Joe Gibbs, both of whom gave their personal recommendation on him to Mike Holmgren. Holmgren hired him and he coached the WCO up in Seattle for a few years. He's an Ivy Leaguer, former QB at Cornell. I think he's got the brains to run the kind of offense Joe Philbin wants.

I don't know, I just find it interesting that he was responsible for coaching Seneca Wallace and Jason Campbell during the only parts of their careers that I thought they were worth a damn, and he's now coaching Nick Foles. All three guys were very low turnover players under Lazor.

2 of those qbs were never any good so i wont hold that against him but i have seen every painful game uvas played since like 90 and i dont ever recall thinking this guys got it with anyone not named musgrave...

i remember being pissed about what i saw a lot...looked like a lot of the offenses were drawn up on a napkin...but i cant recall if that was when lazor was there or not...maybe he's hiding something for just the right moment...ha ha

i always worry about that college offensive mentality transferring to the pros...sometimes you surprise someone with stuff like that and then they catch up and your done...i'm sure he's the first of many though to interview so whatev...

he sure didnt help him not stare at the rush...

Can't fix everything.

If he can clean up some of Tanny's problems, Miamis o would skyrocket. Getting more aggressive play calling and the use of the middle of the field would seriously help.

If he brings that and Tanny becomes Foles esque in terms of production I'd be ecstatic.

i still believe the QB coach from GB is the front runner
