First Round Mock (all 32 selections)

Thanks. If the draft played out that way, I’d be disappointed if Miami took Jones over somebody like Lamb or even Murray. Those guys are impact players. The other option is to throw 70 to SF and get the remaining top tackle on the board. Sitting there and reaching considerably for Jones would be a big no-no. Let’s hope our FO has a good eye for the big picture.

Taking Josh Jones over Lamb would be a terrible move.

Reaching for need is how you pass on star talent for 2nd round OT's.

And you have Jackson and Wilson too high, I don't either of them going in Round 1. But this Draft is going to have more surprises than usual so who knows?

It's so hard mocking players to teams in the 2nd half of the first round, and I appreciate anyone who wants to give it a true, honest go.
If we would trade down 2-3-4 spots then take Jones, OK, Lamb or Ruggs might be nice at 18 if we stay, based on how you have it falling.
If a T at 18, I like Winfield a lot at 26. If Ruggs or Lamb at 18 then is Jones there at 26?
26 is a weird spot this year, I feel. Cesar Ruiz might not be a bad consideration at 26 also.
Chaisson to Dallas...do they run a 3-4, or would Chaisson still fit a 4-3?

Appreciate it. I agree it would be tough to let talent like that pass, I just don't think we can afford to not secure tackle help early on.
That's a good question. I played that draft simulation game and the top four OT's are almost always off the board before #18. I think it's likely the draft will go down that way. Jones and Jackson strike me as a little rich at #18, but if you miss there I'm not sure I like the next option (Cleveland maybe, Wilson for RT?).

With the news of Mekhi Becton's drug testing being flagged a the combine, maybe he slides to us (doubt it but I can dream).

Miami has the ammo to move up from 18 and get one of the top 4 OT's.

They have to find a willing trading partner in the 11-16 area but they should be able to do it if they really want to.

If not I'd much rather go with one of the 2nd tier OT's in R2.

I would not mind taking two OT's since Jessie Davis could move inside sooner or later.Or grab a guy like Ruiz and an OT and build your OL from Davis/Karras/Flowers/Dieter and two new guys.

Getting the QB right and building the OL are paramount to making this team a perennial playoff contender again.
