Here's a few players I could see Miami targeting in R1 (hopefully late round 1).

PJ Williams -- Love Grimes and Finnegan, but they are both over 30 and under 6-0. Miami could use a bigger corner.
Denzel Perryman -- Honestly, seems like the perfect fit for the middle of the Dolphins defense. Linebacker is a big need.
Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon --- Can you imagine what these backs could do in Lazor's running back friendly offense?
Sean Oakman --- DE is a strength, but Wake is over 30 and if Oakman falls he'd be tough to pass on. Simply put, not many players 6-8 275 have his athletic skills.
DeVante Parker --- Miami still needs that big, physical receiver. Parker is excellent with the ball in the air and would be a redzone monster.
Shaq Thompson --- An athletic linebacker and converted safety who would seem like a nice fit.

Definitely not Perryman in the first round. Or the second round. Eric Kendrick is a much superior player. And he isn't a first round guy either.

I haven't seen much of Kendrick. But it would be awesome if Miami could get him or Perryman in R2. I still like the idea of getting that big, physical receiver like Parker in R1 or a shutdown corner.

I'd like to get Ekpre-Olamu or PJ Williams in the first. While I'd love a big WR there are several to be had in the draft, same to be said for RB. Shaq Thompson is an interesting talent in the Lavonte David sort of mold. He could play outside LB, or move to safety, or maybe even to RB (dude averaged 7.5 ypc this year). My preferential draft is something like:

1. IEO
2. Tevin Coleman
3. best athlete on the board

I don't see Shaq Thompson as an option, because Jenkins is playing very well, and they play the same position. I don't think either should make the move to Mike - except in sub packages. I'd start considering Perryman in the 2nd or 3rd. I don't think he has the athleticism/size ratio of a 1st RD LB.

The play of Jenkins has been a huge positive this year. It makes the linebacker position less of a need, which was one of the biggest concerns coming into the season. That really opens it up in R1 for Miami.

I like that. If I had to bet what Miami would do in R1, my money would be on a corner. I think linebacker is less of a need than it was (perceived) at the beginning of the year. A guard seems like a big need, but I don't think the Dolphins go in that direction in the first. Plus, Turner could still be the guy. Running back could be a possibility if Gordon or Gurley drop. To me, that would change the entire draft for Miami.

WR, DB, OG, TE, RB, LB. That's how I'd order our needs. We'll move on from Hartline and we need a guy who can get downfield and make contested catches. I think that opens up our offense more than a TE, but TE is also very important and should be targeted.

I like my Canes and Perryman has good instincts to be the Mike we need but I wouldnt give him a 1st round grade.

might not be a huge need position even if we dump gibson and hartline but I would love DeVante Parker. Imagine Wallace and Parker on the boundary with Landry in the slot

I think DP will be the next great Canes LBer playing on Sundays, but if we were to get him we'd have some short LB'ers which could potentially be a problem with TE's growing bigger every year! We definitely need a LBer who can play all 3 downs and who can stay healthy week to week. We do have Tripp who is basically on a redshirt year as he's learning the speed and transitioning to much higher level of football than he's ever experienced. Tripp has great size at 6'3", has anyone heard if they plan on developing him as a Mike? I think we still need to draft a couple backers as the depth is not great there.

I like DeVante Parker and think he'd be a great get to play with Wallace, Landry and Mathews which would be a very good group with size, speed and toughness as a group, throw in Hazel as the 5th receiver and we'd be set! We really have missed out on having that big physical jump ball receiver for some unknown reason we have just stubbornly refused to get one! With RT17 improving so much and Landry and Wallace balling the addition of a DVP would be a tremendous get. But as stated in this forum there are quite a few big bodied WRs coming out this year, like Coates but as others stated he's a developmental guy where DVP probably comes in right away and starts.

CB with some height and size is a need.

DaVante Parker is the player I want for Miami. He may end up going pretty quickly with the way he has come back from the foot injury. I'd love Parker in R1 and Clive Walford in R2. That would give Ryan Tannehill the weapons to take the offense to the next level. From there, I'd look for and offensive lineman and linebacker with the possibility of trading back up for Perryman.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I feel Parker could be a disappointment in the pros. With his lack of physicality, I can see a lot of parallels with Justin Hunter, who hasn't really been the receiver a lot of people thought he would be in the NFL, a lot of which is down to him needing to make more catches in congested space and/or contested catches.

I wasn't a fan of Hunter for that reason and I have a sneaking feeling that Parker could struggle at the next level also with the reduction in space/time and the increase in aggression.

I'm not necessarily talking "bust" territory here, but I could see a sizeable dropoff in production.

i don't think it does in theory, but as far as the draft goes, the options at WR just seem to be much more enticing
