Just musing. How much of the Ravens success was due to Flacco and how much due to him being surrounded by talented players (esp his O-line)? It's just that you hear so much about his poise and arm, but when you look at the naked stats, they are less then impressive;

TD:INT 14:12
11 fumbles
less than 3,000 yards.

Please don't get me wrong, it was a impressive for a rookie to take a team to the playoffs but I feel he is being over-hyped by the media. It would surprise me if they have the same success next year. Your thoughts?

It'll be interesting to watch next season. He didn't have the greatest set of WRs this year and still managed to do well. His RBs were good though, as was his O-Line.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It will depend on tough of a schedule they have, How well defenses prepare against him this off season, now that they have game film on him, and how well he makes adjustments to those defensive schemes. I think if he has sucessfull year this year that will speak volumes about him. If he struggles it wont say much until his 3rd season, it could simply be a growing pain or he could be a one season wonder. Just have to wait and see how his career unfolds.

He'll be fine, he's got all the physical skills to be a great pro-QB. I'd be surprised if he had a season that was as statistically as mediocre as this season next year. Ben Roethlisberger had a very mediocre start to his career statistically also. But he won games, which is all that mattered, and eventually he matured into one of the best QB's in this league.

Nah, man...i gotta give credit where credits due but i think this guys going to be a stud QB...

Joe Flacco needs to be in a pass happy offense...The ravens rely on a heavy running game...Hed e good in ZOna..seattle..HEck even the Rams

Saying he had a talented set of running backs I think takes away from him. Willis McGahee is a bum. The Ravens always have relied heavily upon their defense. He did what they asked him to do and that's to not screw up. If he was asked to do more he probably would've struggled more. Nevermind being a rookie the guy was coming from a D-1AA school.

What is with the complex with some fans that if any Qb has success it's because of the system? Good coaching means a player will be successful.
