A game is flexed 10 days in advance which would mean if we could beat the Bills and 49ers, we would have our FIRST prime time game of the year in a huuuuge game against the Jets (assuming we beat the Chiefs in week 16 of course)... Some fans dont care too much about prime time games but there is nothing like watching my Fins on a Sunday or Monday Night game... Bring out those Orange Jerseys!

Think of the story lines:
1)Possibly Brett Favres last game?
2)Winner gets the AFC East Title, loser gets nothing
3)Fins go from 1-15 to playoffs?
4)Pennington comes back to Ny

Wow, this game would have all the meanings of a special game

Bought my tickets today....

Went on Jet Ticket Exchange and bought two tickets today....taking my father for Christmas.

I really hope this game means something...Sunday night would just be a bonus.

This weekends game in Toronto is the key!!!

Actually a game takes 12 days to be flexed . . . which is why they are announced on Tuesday's.

However for week 17, they are announced only 6 days before the week 17 game . . . so the results will be known from the Chiefs game as well. The NFL does this to make sure that the primetime game that is shown that night is for a playoff spot . . . or has some kind of playoff implications.

Is there even a Sunday night game scheduled for Week 17?? I didn't think they played a primetime game in the last week. Not sure if somethings changed with this flex scheduling business. Can anyone offer some definite answers?

I'd prefer that they flex it to the night game. That way if they lose, I won't suffer from depression until after the afternoon games.

God damn! I thought they announced it early. I too got my tickets off jets ticket exchange and would be the giddiest man alive if this game would not only be for all the marbles but be flexed into Sunday Night.

I actually just looked on NFL.com and there isn't a Sunday Night game scheduled. Is that because they flex in the best possible game or is dolfancoolio right and there isn't a Sunday Night game.

I dont think they have a Sunday night or Monday night game in week 17 to allow playoff teams the same amount of time for rest, prep, etc. We want to catch a early evening flight home from NY. Hope it stays a 1pm start.

I don't know why everyone here is so obsessed with us getting flexed. I'd rather us not deal with the atmosphere of a prime time game and instead be able to play this like every other game this year.

There is a Sunday Night game that week. It is TBD. Unlike other weeks when it is announced 12 days in advance, they wont determine which game it will be until the Tuesday before that game at the latest. They could announce it after Sundays games or on Monday if the monday nighter wont effect the decision.

Nevertheless, if the phins win the next 3, you can bet that the Sunday Nighter will be phins at Jets for the division title. That matchup is just much more attractive than the only other option.....Eagles vs. Cowboys, because that game will be for a lone wildcard spot at best. If the Jets Phins is for all the marbles its a lock pick for the Sunday nighter. When you add in the NY market, Favre, and the Pennington vs. Jets spin to this game, its a no brainer pick so long as the division title is at stake.

Now this could be SERIOUSLY ADVANTAGOUS for the phins to play this on Sunday Night if somehow(despite this being a slim chance) that the Jets had already clinched a particular seed(either 2 or 3) and the division and the phins are playing at 9-6 for a wildcard spot. I know this isnt likely, the Ravens or Colts would have to be at 9-7 and the Pats at either 9-7 or 10-6 and our loss was to SF or KC and not Buffalo. If this happens, the Jets may just decide they would rather play the phins in the first round instead of the Pats or Ravens and sit a bunch of guys and perhaps flop in the game.

But, chances are if this game matters to us it will have to be because we are 10-5 and need it to win the division...in which case the Jets will certainly go all out. Thats also probably the only way it gets flexed. If the phins cant win the division with a victory, they may go Eagles, Cowboys if its for a wildcard.

Week 17

I don't think anyone is so obsessed with being flexed, but I think we all realize that if the Phins are 10-5 this game is going to be Sunday night with Pennington going up against the Jets in the Meadowlands. I think it is more of a foregone conclusion if the game means anything so it is just a topic worth speaking about.

I bought tickets for the game hoping that it is worth something. I don't care if it's at 1 or 8:30 as long as it means something for the Phins. If they can go in 10-5 though you can guarantee it will be the Sunday nighter.

I want it to be flexed just so i can enjoy the game from the comfort of my own home, we don't get too many Fins games in Montana. I have to go to the sports bar almost every week.

do you know how dificult is to watch a game here in mexico city, i have to wake upp at 10 in the morning with a hangover in sunday morning and go to a sportsbook or some place that televis the game, and every week search the place that is going to televise the game, its creazy belive me, but every week i do it for love, and every sunday and monday night game in every channel of the tv there is the games, and i hate not seeing my phins on my own tv.
here is something, id realize that the first game of the dolphins vs the f**** jets, any were in mexico not even in the sportsbooks would televise the game, so i had to go to miami to see the game.
dont just think on yourself

hypocrite!

How about the fact that our team is made up of mostly rookies and dont need the added pressure of a national game. They also dont benefit by waiting till 8-9pm to start the game that is going to define how much of a sucess this season really is for them.
