It seems abc will have the Sunday night game. Espn will have
the Monday night games. How will this flex schedule work?
Can they actually change the game to a more favorable matchup?
If the fans buy the tickets to a 1pm game and the network feels
to change it to primetime game is that fair to the fans?
Is it just for ratings?

the flex will only happen on sundays... it allows them to move a 1pm or 4pm game into the evening slot (essentially what is the espn slot right now)

Monday games will not be able to be moved around.. as it would create alot of logistical problems.

that way if you buy a ticket to a 1pm game you will simply have to arrive to the game later in the day to see it. if they moved to a different day it would suck for fans who goto the games.

How much advance warning are they going to give? I mean, I might have made plans for one time based on the schedule and if the games gets moved..

I think they should at least give a few weeks.

NBC will have the Sunday night games, not ABC

no clue as to advanced notice.. but im sure it will be atleast a week... probably more.. you can tell by week 5 what games are going to be dogs and what ones would make better match-ups.. I dont think that they would make the decision on the friday before the game :)

I never liekd the idea of flex scheduling, I thought it was unfair to fans and even players and staff who had tickets or made plans of some sort... but I've warmed up to it.

The thing I don't understand is when they release schedules in April, will they already have a game scheduled in that slot no matter what?? And how bad of a game does it have to be for a switch? There is more info I wish i had on this.

I think the network is given the option to switch.. but if they want to switch games with an opposing network the opposing network is allowed a number of "Vitos"

that way network A cant take all the good games away from network B so I dont think its going to be a regular thing.. I think it will be used more towards the end of the season when you might swap out some 3 and 12 teams for a colts/chargers kind of game

I was a little worried about it too but in looking at how bad this seasons primetime games have been.. I am welcoming it with open arms :)

you do realize the DOLPHINS might have actually had a primetime game this year if we had flex scheduling..

imagine if the pats would loose all three games and we win all three.. dont you think they would love to put that into an evening primetime slot? :) even if hey were espn haha

.

Every college football game is a FLEX SCHEDULE almost. They dont' announce times of games till about 7 or 8 days before ususally. Not that big of a deal

i'm sure CBS and FOX will appreciate getting one of their marquee games ripped to be on sunday night

dude its been bugging me... who is that in your sig?

I also heard that Fox and CBS will have a few vetoes a year they can use to keep good games.

Either way, it will be interesting and might be the best thing for the NFL.
