Going to miss having him around, but glad he has the opportunity to advance his coaching career.
Taking a sideways job doesnt sound good for the current Fins DC....Going to miss having him around, but glad he has the opportunity to advance his coaching career.
This is a rumor board, what else we got to do but spin rumors :)Let's not make more out of this than what it is. And for the ones who say this is a lateral move it's throwing **** at a wall that ain't sticking. Surtain was a defensive assistant with the Dolphins. He is replacing Marcus Woodson who was hired as a co-defensive coordinator for Arkansas and was not only the secondary coach, but also the defensive passing team coordinator.
I agree. I was hoping he and Madison would stick around another year to continue training the young DB's. That Sertain would leave a playoff caliber NFL team to go to the college ranks at the same staff position doesn't look good. Perhaps he has philosophical differences in defensive play/schemes, maybe he has read the tea leaves and knows what's going to happen. Regardless, I wish him the very best going forward.Taking a sideways job doesnt sound good for the current Fins DC....
I dont follow college football, always assumed Florida State was in Florida...How about, he lives in LA and wanted to be closer to home?
That's what you get for assuming.I dont follow college football, always assumed Florida State was in Florida...

Also possible he is the fall guy and Boyer threw him under the bus. The secondary was a mess this year (Not Surtain's fault imo, but my opinion aint worth much)Taking a sideways job doesnt sound good for the current Fins DC....
