Florio was on WQAM and said that the only reason Manning is working out in Florida is to keep the Dolphins at the table to drive up the price. Says Miami will get used and they have no chance to sign him.

florio is such a fool. my question to florio is where else r there really options that are no doubt a much better place for him?

now obviously their will be plenty of teams bidding for manning so if we dont get him, its not like florio is a genius in predicting that, but to say we have ''no shot'' at him is ridiculous.

if someone wants to say san francisco has a better chance, ok maybe, but other than them, and i dont even know for sure if they do, but thats 1 team.

is someone going to tell me that the cardinals, chiefs, redskins are flat out better options than miami?

Well since Mike Florio says so it must be true...

We all know Florio hates the dolphins because he hates ross or the fact that we haven't been really relevant in a decade.. He may be right in the end if Manning doesnt come here... but its not because we don't have a chance. He wouldn't like the Phins to have a shot, and he likes to use the joke of Miami running up the price, because it has happened a handful of times before. Don't see Peyton acting like Ryan Clark or Fisher.

Florio's reasoning is that Manning wants to win a Super Bowl this year. Says Miami with Manning is not a Super Bowl contender.

So which team with a need at QB would be THAT MUCH more likely a SB contender than us?

Whatever..If he does not come here does it really matter if we have a shot at him or not? Flynn seems like the guy that Joe would want anyway..He is younger and has coached him before..The only reason why it would not be a slam dunk is because of the money....

Miami has a legit Defense, LT, RB and top 5 WR in Brandon Marshall... We're the best fit between those other teams mentioned who don't have the total package like we do.

If Manning is truly driven by winning and not money, Miami seems like the best fit. Seattle being a distant second.

...which is a ridiculous thing to say. With the Patriots' paper defense, I could definately see the Dolphin winning the division and maybe even securing a bye if Peyton is the QB. Heck, if the Ravens with Joe Flacco can do it, I don't see why we can't.

Who's going to be though? I mean unless you have Harbaugh suck up to manning and hold his ego in check, change his offense, and bench smith who played great last season, than what team is a superbowl contender? Unless you have a team X that was in the playoffs that doesn't have a future at QB, than your looking at the Jets (Overshadow Eli in NY), the Skins (Overshadow Eli in division), Seattle (Colder, are they that much better in Miami?), Cards (Fitz, then what?)

isnt manning in miami because he bought a condo there ? where else could he be, indy? im sure his house there is packed up. louisiana ? maybe florio thinks he may go there next to try and get brees job. it is just stupid to say someone is in a certain city for the sole purpose of bargaining.

There's not a team being bandied about who's a legitimate SB contender without him. I can see Peyton being attracted to Philbin for his quiet dignity, the respect he imbues and his QB and offensive expertise. He's not a buffoon whose guarantees he'd be forced to live up to or with lockerroom cancerous WRs, unlike some others. However, I can also see him gravitating towards Crenell, the way he did with Caldwell, 2 below average, hands-off HCs, especially with Charles and if they resign Bowe. My gut tells me though that he and Wayne will team up with Larry Fitz in Arizona, using Warner as the template for success and of all the teams and the division in which they compete, the Cardinals stand the best chance to make it to the Big Show.

Now as far as Florio goes, even though he doesn't command any respect as a sports authority, ya gotta give him credit for reeingineering his career from marginal dime-a-dozen legal shyster to sports gossip-monger without any real qualifications for the latter. He obviously has it in for the Fins; I suspect either Parcells told him to eff off, or actually found Mrs Florio's G spot and the shyster has been on a vendetta ever since. :idk:

The Jets are ALWAYS on your mind then you'll whine about the thread being taken off topic.
