On his live chat Florio (from PFT) just said he thinks the Fins will be the first team to beat the Saints. He also said we are a team that is very tough to beat with Henne. He also picked us for the playoffs.

EDIT Can someone fix the thread title.

I hate to get ahead of ourselves here. The Saints are obviously very, very good. Stealing one against them would mean a metric ton for our chances this year, but the likelihood has to be considered pretty low. How do you defend against their passing attack? They have a great combination too because they can run the ball. I just don't know that I see it. I've only been wrong on the outcome of one Dolphins game so far this year, and it was a disappointment. I hope this will be a second time and be a pleasant surprise to balance out the disappointment.

I agree. I do like the props the fins have gotten from the media since our monday night game. The way I see it; if we beat the Saints its a bonus and it gives us more breathing room going into our 2 back to back tough divisional games.

I think we can slow down their running game. I'm worried about pass defense. And their defense isn't to shabby this year either. It certainly will be a great test for Henne even if we run the ball a lot.

I agree CK. This is the NFL and of course anything is possible. But Brees and that passing game is on another level. So even is we make them one deminsional, they will be turning to their bread and butter vs our very weak and so far non-impressive secondary. That's scary. Our offense is good but we don't do shootouts. We can't let them get into a track meet or it will be ugly early.

If we. Had a pass rush and/or a secondary I'd say we had a shot. But I don't see it. I still think we'll run well and might win th TOP battle but I think it'll be an indy replay. We just can't stop great QBs with a large amount of weapons. They didn't show us nethin in preseason for a reason. But if we get some moral victories and play hard I hope it'll get us goin for the run we have following NO against our division bc it is wide open

Their strength is our weakness. Horrible matchup right there. I think it'll become a shootout, with the better team that day coming out on top.

I'm not saying this game is hopeless, but I sure as hell am not betting on us beating the Saints.

1. You run the daylights out of the ball to keep Brees off the field.
2. You score TD's not FG's.
3. You play nickel and drop 7 or 8 and force them to take the run. This also eats the clock and keeps the overall score down and gives us a chance to force them into a mistake.

That's how I would approach this game, I realize they have a good run game but it's not like the quick strike Manning did against us. Pierre, Bell and Bush will get their yards but we keep from exploding our score board.

If we can control the ball like we did for three quarters against Indy we have a chance but our D has to really step it up. The Saints are looking like the best team in the NFL right now.

they have the no name offensive line too.

I'm not worried so much about their receivers, but Shockey scares me pretty badly.

I'm not worried about our defensive talent keeping them under control.

I am worried about Pasqualoni totally screwing things up with his pathetic game plans.

Realistically, the only way we win this game is if Nawlins has an off day, which even the best teams sometimes do. Our secondary is simply not good enough.
