Florio: Manning is driven to win a couple more Superbowls

I don't understand how Manning has seen "The Best Doctor's" had "The Best Surgeon's" is an "Elite Professional Athlete" and STILL can't get Healthy ENOUGH to get on a practice field and pass a team Physical!!! Wonder what that is all about? I guess Manning Isn't Healthy, inspite of his Best of the Best capabilities!!! Kind of makes you wonder why many Dolphins Fan's still seem to think he is the "Miracle" QB that will drop in Miami's lap!!!

Manning has been throwing since December, Jeff Saturday and Reggie Wayne said he was throwing the ball harder then he ever has, but the problem is he keeps getting slight pain in his tricep, people think it's all about his neck but its not, he has a nerve running down from his neck to his arm and tricep and he still feels a little pain, I heard his doctor speaking the other day and he said there is a 90% chance that Manning fully recovers, once the neck regenerates then he wont have the pain running down through his arm, he could wake up tomorrow and the neck could regenerate or it could take another year or two, there is no medicine, no tool, no x-ray to tell when the neck will regenerate, we would have to hope it happens before March 8th because if he is released and still injured I don't wanna take the risk.

sparano's post has me thinking/wondering if we could make Manning a part timer like he goes when he feels good but Moore plays when he is feeling pain? Less money and less risk IMO.

This thought also makes you want to just go get Flynn and call it a day.

Well Said!!! I know what your talking about, I lived Manning's dilemma everyday since 2001 .. You never know when the nerves will regenerate .. we just don't know IF; he'll ever be healthy enough to throw a football with any consistency!!! 90% of what? is the question I'd be asking ... the pain and numbness he feels is from the plate in his neck that immobilizes the cervical spine to a large degree; and when he throws the nerves are impinged and the pain and numbness will radiate down his throwing arm!!!

I appreciate the post, but that 90% number is utter nonsense.

The thing is there is a good chance he never fully recovers and always has pain in his throwing arm

There is also a good chance that he will throw fine for 5 to 10 throws, then the nerve will fatigue and he will lose the zip for the rest of the game. I truly believe that is what happened to Marino. He couldn't throw the same after his neck injury. Sure, he played, but the passes fluttered more than zipped his last year.
