Mike Florio of PFT was on with Joe Rose this morning on 790 the ticket. Among other things, he said the surprise of the first round will be that John Beck of BYU will be picked late first round. Florio went on to say that those QB needy teams that passed on Russell and Quinn will pick a QB in the early second round. As such, a team targeting one of the second tier QBs (Beck, Edwards, Stanton, Kolb) will need to move up in the lower part of round one to nab him. Apparently, Beck's stock is rising. Florio said he would have more on the Beck pick later this week.

While Florio may not be the most reliable source, it does make some sense.
 
Blah! More pre-draft rumors. Beck will not go in the 1st round. Most teams in the lower first don't need a QB versus another spot and if anyone might inch up (not that I agree with that, but) it will be Stanton, but I see that being in the early 2nd. I think only 2 QB's will be going in the first this year. A big reason . . . first round (regardless of spot) Qb's get a lot more $$$ than 2nd rounders. And I don't see most late round teams wanting to tie big $$ in a QB that will be a 2nd or 3rd stringer on their team.
 
that is very true, the top two QB's will go by the first 10 picks, all of the other QB's will go in the second round.
 
I can actually believe this rumor. Beck's stock has been soaring astronomically lately. I remember the same thing happened with Jason Campbell a while ago.
Well I guess that the other shoe was going to drop for us eventually haha:

The good: This draft is rich in Qbs and we have only Cleo.
The bad: The Qbs are experiencing soaring stocks, which might bite us if we wait too long.

That's what I'm starting to worry about after reading these Beck articles today. If Mueller/Cameron have a conviction on one of these guys I hope that they make the necessary moves and grab him. Then it's great with signing Green (hopefully) to give them 2-3 years to get ready, if need be.

I agree. If we are completely sold on one of the QBs between Kolb/Beck/Stanton I wouldn't mind if we use our early 2nd on them. ONLY if we are absolutely sold on one of them though and feel they won't be there later in the round.
 
this was what i have been saying all along that we need to secure a qb
in rd 2 . now what would be wrong on drafting te olsen and then geting kolb , and wr davis then get all oline afterwards.
