Just to re-summarize what he said..when asked what would he choose for his team ..best available player or position needed and reese said best available player...he went on to say that the year the titans went with a player they drafted based on need at a certain position,it didn't work out at all...that is food for thought for the many who think we need to draft levi brown 1st just based on the fact he is a lt...i still say if landry somehow someway is there at 9 and quinn and russell r off the board it is a no brainer...gotta pick him..another player i love to see picked by not at 9 maybe if the phins trade and move into the 14-17 selection, would be patrick willis, that guy is a tackling machine...well just thought i give my 2 cents

I agree with you and [Floyd].

i have to agree too. he has more talent than levi and is more of a top 10 talent maybe top 5. i would love to see this move he is a impact player in my mind and well allen and landry that would be a futre! huh?

Just to let you all know we dont need anoter Defence player we need offence players like TE QB a WR to back up chris chambers and marty booker and we also need linemen and who ever thinks we need Adrian Peterson your crazy that would be the biggest waste of pick the dolphins would have ever made we need a guy like Brady Quinn picking a running back would be stupid the Raiders need a QB trade them daunte culpper and are 1st round pick and a couple of other guys for there 1st round pick

If there is a huge disparity in ability between the best available player and the need player, you take the best available player, but Levi Brown isn't a scrub, and he's going to be a good player in the NFL. A good LT (and Brown has the potential to be a lot more then good) is more valuable then a great safety.

Just because our Defense is pretty solid doesn't mean we shouldn't draft a defensive player or Just cause we have Ronnie Brown shouldn't prevent us from taking a Adrian Peterson if he's there. The best player available should be taken period!

I totally agree with your BPA assessment of how it should function, however, I will defer to Hudson Houck to assess Levi Brown's status as an elite player or not.

I have my doubts, but if he deems him worthy I'd be ok with it.

While I certainly agree with the above opinions, we have so many needs that it just really won't matter. He also said that after the top 5 in this draft, #'s 6-15 were interchangeable as far as value. Therefore, we have a wider selection of people to choose from and still not "reaching" that fills both need and is still BPA.

For example, I see Staley and Brown both in that group of players...Some would argue that Staley is below that group, but most draftniks have them both in the top half of the first round...so taking Staley wouldn't be a reach for the Fins...Now, I just used him as an example. I will be happy with just about anyone at they choose at this point, including a DL, LB or WR that are not necessarily our biggest need areas...

Kiper has us taking OKoye @ 9 ( a player with nice potential but an idiotic pick for us) Then he has the Texans taking Brown @ 10, so if we take Brown @ 9, is that a huge reach? At this point: Quinn or Brown or trade down!

Kiper's a goof.

He's nearly lost his job at ESPN a few times. He's rarely right on draft day even as the pick is being announced. He spends more time backpeddling and explaining the actual pick than he does correctly predicting the pick.

I truly don't believe he's good at projecting team needs and how the draft is impacted by such. I believe he simply rates the players from top to bottom and believes that's the order they'll be picked.

Corey Chavous is better than Kiper.

I like Ronnie Brown and I 'm really looking forward to Ricky Williams coming back. That being said, Adrian Peterson is a potential Hall of Fame running back. If he's there at #9, you take him. Or at least use him in a trade down for more picks.
