Flynn leaves South Florida/ Smith negotiating with Dolphins

if smith can give us the type of performance he gave in the playoffs , i could live with the signing. wouldnt be surprised if they traded moore if they sign smith.

when you hear stuff from sources like yahoo sports and other places that makes me think you are hearing this from players tweeting stuff to these sources, not us so its a one sided thing where the player using leverage. we are in lock down, and for good reason. cant trust media.

once again...who do you want? whats your answer? we never hear your answer to things or anyone else who poo poos this FO.

why wast $ on smith when we can just keep moore? they had very comparable numbers last year and smith was a product of the system, he had a good season because harbough protected him last year and barely let him throw, alex smith is a scrub, I would rather take tannehill over smith, so were gonna sign smith when we could have bit the bullet and traded up for RG3? this FO is a joke and will never get it right!

Please don't say that. How many passes did he actually complete to WR in the playoffs? It was all check downs with 2 or 3 passes to Davis. The Phins don't have a TE like Davis and the WR talent took a huge nosedive when they traded Marshall. I also think he would be a horrible fit in a WCO. His career completion percentage is below 60%. I just don't understand how folks can be happy with this if he does sign. Also, Matt Moore missed the first 3 games and almost matched Smith's season totals in TDs and yardage.

Maybe the organization sees Alex Smith as an ascending talent? I'm not real high on him because I have seen him in SF for so many years and he has mostly struggled. However, with his first real offensive minded head coach Smith had a very solid season (Chad Penningtonish) last year. Sure, he was a game manager. Although I did feel that he was the difference in the playoff win against New Orleans. That was a great game for Alex Smith. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to follow that up in the conference championship game agains the Giants. Again, I'm not sold on Smith. But if 2010 was all I ever saw of him then I'd be pretty excited. If he is indeed signed maybe he fits a Philibin offense. Either way, I think the team is going to draft a quarterback.

Come on guys seriously? Is Smith really the best this organization can do? The 49'ers who have more talent then us courts Manning who is in the twilight of his career and god knows if one hit puts him down for keeps...what does that say about Smith who brought them to the NFC Championship game?

I don't care what the costs would have been, we should have traded up in the draft for the likes of Luck or RG3 because if you're a long time fins fan like me, we haven't been the same since Robbie sold this team to Huizenga. We couldn't win a SB with the likes of Marino and you think maybe Smith is the answer...please!

We really need to sit back and see this unfold, we have no clue the grade Miami has on Ryan Tannehill or Brandon Weeden.

Im so down if this happens. If manning doesnt pick san fran they will look the like the dumbest team in nfl history. This will be a major epic fail for the niners. I have 2 friends that are massive fans and they said there on suicide watch right now.. Love it!!

Come on smith sign in miami and manning come on sign with the titans. I'll be moonwalking

In the last 3 years combined:

Just under 8,000 yards

49 TD , 27 INT

60.5% completion percentage

those numbers are better than any QB we've seen here in a while. And those are stats from his last 3 years starting... He is getting better in my opinion, could be a great pick up

If Philbin and Sherman are on board with Smith I am all in.
