Flynn leaves South Florida/ Smith negotiating with Dolphins

they have colin kapernik dont they? if they lose smith i think they feel they are fine with colin.

He refused to sign because his former team was flirting with Peyton.

i was reading, he refused 3yrs/24mil, because he wanted 4 years. that was before manning. now he is mad because of the peyton-flirt.

From the guy first in line to slam this FO this is a great move! I have been reading up on it all day and it appears Smith is ready to move on from a franchise that never really supported him. This kiss had been through 7 current systems and OCs plus a freakish collarbone injury with a botched surgery! The light really came on for this kid down the stretch and at 27yrs old he is work the shot. One other thing to keep in mind is Philbins offense will attack more then Harbaugh.

Kevin Kolb signed a 5 year $63 million deal last year. What would be fair offer to Flynn? Keep in mind anything under 5 yrs / $50 million is low balling.

Just one question to all, who want Smith.

Does realy anybody believe, that Smith will be the Franchise-Quarterback, who will bring us in a glory future???
save the money!!!

How can you people be excited about this? smith had 1 decent year but it's nothing that matt moore can't do. either sign flynn or save the money and go with moore . smith does not improve the situation and this franchise is turning into a joke if we signed smith

This is a popular question, and I'll counter it with asking another question. Should thoughts of wondering if Alex Smith or Matt Flynn being a franchise QB prohibit us from "attempting" to upgrade the QB position?

Franchise QB's don't grow on trees, and there is a chance we won't get that elite QB for a while . . . you still need to compete and Philbin needs to get the best QB he feels is right for what he is trying to do. One thing I'll say about Alex Smith . . . I've ALWAYS liked his potential, he really has alot of the talents you would want in "today's" QB makeup. He finally got paired with a good coach with a solid offensive philosophy and he hit his best strides. Plus he "made plays" in big time situations to win big games and I think that experience will be extremely valuable going forward with him.

Then again, I liked him last year, wanted to bring him in last year and I got clowned, so go figure. I don't want people to lower their standards in what they want in a QB, but I think there is a Maddenesque/Fantasy world that many of the Fans live in and in the real world you just can't snap your fingers and have a franchise QB.
