Flynn>Manning in our situation?

You guys are disappointing. How could you even compare a guy that has played all of two good games to a future HOF like Manning. What you guys forget is that Manning's skills haven't declined, he got injured. Last I saw him playing, he was one of the best Qb's in all of football and you have the nerve to compare (<>=) Flynn to him. Football Blasphemy.
Comparing overall careers, no doubt, Manning is royalty.

Comparing where they are today? Flynn can throw the ball 40 yards, right now. No reason to even consider he won't be able to in 6 months. Can you say the same for Manning?

I think it's obvious that Flynn, or anyone for that matter, coming in here and being a bonafide franchise QB for the next 10 years is the best case scenario. That would make us a true playoff contender for a long time which is what we all want. I just don't know that will happen. If Flynn comes in here and is mediocre that's a lot of money wasted and likely another regime change. I admit I'm all in for Peyton Manning, watching him in a fins uniform for just 2 or 3 years if he's close to healthy outweighs the risk Flynn brings. If Flynn turns into Tom Brady, i'll admit I was wrong.

Totally respect that opinion. Guess my point is that Manning is every bit as much a risk as Flynn. Flynn may or may not have the talent to be a franchise qb. We know Manning had it, he may or may not be able to get healthy enough to play at that level ever again. As long as we're guessing and hoping, I'd take the guess that gives the much longer return on investment.
