With Philbin meeting Manning sometime within the next 3 days, it seems like the Dolphins are prepared to lose Flynn to another team once FA starts.

As such, it would seem like their fallback option is Moore/Tannehill and that they are happy with that. Would you be?

If Philbin and Sherman can coach them up and believe they are the best option then yes.

Tannehall is clearly not ready to start day one, however Tannehall has great upside and would look pretty good in a Phinz uniform :-)

For the last time.

Flynn would be incredible dumb to sign before Peyton does. The teams left out of the Manning sweepstakes will be in a bid war for his services.

Flynn has already stated he will not sign until Peyton does.

Cleveland and Seattle may go all in for Flynn but Manning has no interest in them and where did Flynn say he would wait on Peyton?

Wrote this a while ago in another thread, prior to Manning being released. Hopefully, it still applies:

I really hope our front office is disguising their true desires, and using Manning to drive down the Flynn price. That would be ideal to me, and makes sense. Assume for a second that Philbin says to Ireland that he totally believes that Flynn is the next great elite qb and he is willing to bet his job on that. He knows the offense, smooth transition, etc. Now, they can't even mention Flynn without tampering, plus they'd not want to tip their hand. So they leak info that Ross is all giggly excited about getting Manning, totally ignore Flynn, go through the motions once Manning's released, then pounce on Flynn as soon as free agency begins. Not even throw an offer at Manning.I really hope that is what's happening.

Because the alternative is that we are once again the transparent, desperate guy at the dance, saying Golly, sure would like to ask out the homecoming queen, only to have the popular guys laugh at our lame attempts, then proceed to make out with her in front of us... I hope we're not that guy....again.

If the Fins are left holding the bag, you're going to see four things at Sun Life Stadium:
1. A lot of orange seats
2. A lot more fans of the opposing teams
3. A horrible Dolphin team
4. The remaining Dolfans holding up signs that say "Blow for Barkley" and "Sell the team".

Dude I want Manning just as much as the next guy, but if we dont get him its not the end of the world... Alot of teams find success every year without having signed a HOF QB through FA in the offseason...

I would be OK starting the season with Moore, and drafting Hennehill in the middle of the first round. I do not think we should take him #8, he is not worth the price. If we miss on Tannehill, I would pick Weeden. He may have a shorter career, but he might actually give Moore some competition in camp.

Ideally, if we miss on Manning, I would take Richardson or Keuchly at 8, Weeden at 42, and sign Carl Nicks as FA.
The rest of the draft focus on OG/OT, DE,SS,CB,WR
Just my .02

I am over Peyton Manning already. If he signs, it will be anti-climatic for me..yippee..

Why would Flynn be in a rush to sign tomorrow? It seems the smarter move to me would be to wait until Manning is off the market. Then he's the top FA QB and all the teams that just missed out on Manning would be after him and more desperate to not miss out again.

If this is true, Flynn's a smart guy. Even if Denver, Tennessee and Houston decide to stick with the guys they've got, that still leaves Cleveland, Seattle and Miami absolutely desperate for a QB and likely to get into a bidding war. Cleveland in particular is rumored to be very interested in Flynn.
