Flynn to Miami talk heating up already

http://misterirrelevant.com/index.php/2012/01/18/scout-matt-flynns-a-slam-dunk/

One scout attended a Green Bay two-a-day session each of the past two years. The first year, he said Aaron Rodgers took every rep in the first practice and Flynn took every rep in the second.
“There was virtually no difference in the accuracy or productivity of the offense,” the scout said. “I was blown away by the guy because I had such low expectations. I was amazed at how good he looked, how in command and he’s a mobile guy. He was not as impressive [last summer], but he was still good. I think he’s a Rich Gannon type. He has a good arm, not a great arm. Arm strength is one of the most overrated aspects of a quarterback.

Now from Russ Lande, a former NFL scout who heads the draft coverage for the Sporting News and runs GM Jr.
“I would go get Flynn,” Lande said. “I thought he was a better player than Kevin Kolb. The only thing I don’t see is the big arm, which is a big thing with Shanahan because of the vertical deep passing game. He has an average NFL arm, which is more than enough to win with. But Mike [Shanahan] is a smart guy. He can win this this guy and win real well. To me it’s a slam dunk so you don’t have to use your first-round pick.
“[Flynn] is poised, super accurate and gets rid of the ball quickly. He makes good decisions. And if you sign him to a deal, with the sixth pick you have more options.”

I'll tell you this much: If we go into training camp with Chad Henne, Matt Moore, Matt Flynn and maybe a rookie from the 4th-5th round...our franchise QB has to be one. Those 3 guys, disagree or not...have proven they can play and win. Neither have proven to be Pro Bowlers, but all have proven they can do good with a good OL, good receivers, good RB support. If Matt Flynn comes here, there's no need to draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round...we let this year pass, and if nothing comes out we go ALL IN on Matt Barkley next year. If Flynn comes here, we fix our OL once and for all. Im thinking Martin (RT) and Zeitler (OG)

Im hoping that if we land Flynn the only time we will ever have to hear Henne's name again is when he's throwing INT's to our defense as QB of the last place Jets.

How many 7th round picks have thrown for 6 td and 1 int in one game?
Those wr were wide open, he didn't make any difficult throws, wait till they get some game tape on him. Ryan Fitz2.0! But you keep looking at fantasy stats!!!

The WRs were open because of the plays/west coast offense which Philbin will bring. Flynn has shown he can play in that offense. What more do you want? WOuld you rather keep Henne?

This was one of the main reasons I was hoping philbin didn't get the HC spot......Flynn... SMH there's even a thread someone started saying how he reminds him of Marino.

I watched the game he did make some difficult throws, on TD to Nelson he was in double coverage

we should prolly trade up and get blackman now. Start surrounding the qb with weapons who ever it is.

Matt Schaub had terrible stats in Atlanta but showed Promise. I'm sure we all would like to have him!!! Flynn has played in the same system as Farve and Rodgers. He runs the Offense very well (6TDs in a game) and deserves a shot. Who thought Rodgers would be the best QB in the NFL??? He was drafted 24th and sat for 3 years. Flynn will be a good QB in this league and I don't want to complain about another QB we passed on that is successful!!! We should get him and run the West Coast Offense cause we haven't exactly run up the scoreboard in awhile!!!

Matt Flynn: 2 career starts. Most TDs thrown in a game: 6.

Chad Henne: 31 career starts. Most TDs thrown in a game: 2.

I think it's safe to say that if we sign this kid we can feel pretty good about going into 2012 with a big upgrade under center.

Don't look at where he was picked, look at whether or not he's any good. He was developed for years in a very good organization that has done a fantastic job of grooming and coaching up quarterbacks. If Philbin thinks enough of the kid to hitch his job and reputation to him, then I'll be pretty comfortable with him.

Wait, so you didn't want Philbin because he can bring in a QB and offensive system that may actually succeed? No guarantees, but there is no denying the possibility. What, you want a guy who cries in the media about the FO of a potential first time HC gig handcuffing him to Bowles in McCoy and a QB whose price may be unrealistically too high to get and who has never played an NFL game in RG3? Now that makes me SMH.

Lol.I thought the same Fitzpatrick. At the end of the day he's a solid backup.

Here's another one from Twitter account "CaptainObvious" (also retweeted by "CampNoSh*t"):

"Philbin + Flynn = Miami"
