Seriously, what are they talking about other than money right now? He's been working closely with Philbin on a daily basis for years. Unless we totally **** this up, he's gonna be a Dolphin by tomorrow.
 
We lowballed him before he even came for a visit, and his agent bitches. Big f'n deal. Obviously it didn't offend Flynn too much or he would still be in Seattle.

That's why they're contract negotiations.

The situation dictates that Miami be the lowest bidder because they have leverage. Matt Flynn wants to play for them. He wants to go to the system he knows under the coach he knows and have the best chance of success possible. Seattle also insists he must compete with Tarvaris Jackson whereas in Miami he would be the declared starter immediately upon signing.

So many people can't follow even simple logic, it's really remarkable.
 
That's why it baffles me that we didn't dump Ireland. We will never live down the trip to see harbaugh until he is gone and Ross shuts up
 
Also, the contract should be (a) straight up short (say 3 years), or (b) should in effect have an "out" in 2-3 years. Say you sign him to a six year contract and after year 3 you set up a $8 million bonus. That's a no brainer provision and something Flynnie should understand. He proves himself and he gets a payday.

In the meantime, Miami picks a young qb in the draft to double down on a commitment to the position.
 
I'd offer Flynn a nice deal and then put in a lot of incentives/bonuses for getting the team to the playoffs, or a bonus for wins/yardage/TD's, etc. He's only started two games, and while he is the best FA option at QB after Manning, his agent can't demand crazy money. There is always option B for him.... backing up Tevaris Jackson in Seattle if he doesn't like Miami.
 
Regardless of this article, and of most homers opinions, the dolphins brass are idiots. The proof is in the pudding. I don't get why some of you guys don't see it and keep defending them like they were family or something. Ireland and Ross are idiots. Period.
 
The guy writing the article is an idiot...why should we break the bank for an unproven QB
