Yes, the season finale against the New England Patriots was difficult to watch. The Patriots made it look awfully easy, but if Miami gets a rematch with the hated rivals they need to get by Pittsburgh first and that now has to be the focus.
It's interesting that the Steeler game began the Dolphins turnaround with Jay Ayaji's first 200-yard game and a rather easy win in Miami. What's the key this time around?
I think the gameplan will rely heavily on Ajayi again and I think it's very important for Miami to get a fast start and an early lead. I think offensively the Dolphins will have a chance, but it all begins with the running game.
The defense is problematic with both starting safeties out, the lack of talent at linebacker etc. But while this defense has allowed the most yards in Miami's history, it has still come up with some big plays and stops at key times. That must, obviously, continue. A few field goals instead of touchdowns is huge.
I'm not sure schematically what Miami can do differently on defense, but stopping the run on D and being able to run on O will decide this contest.
