This team went 7-9 last year.

What exactly changed about this team in the offseason to make you think it could come out this year and beat either of two of the best teams in the league this year, the Pats or the Texans?

Brian Daboll? Please. The guy was fired by the Browns. He's no magic-maker.

Chad Henne? I don't think so.

The defense? What exactly changed about the defense? Reshad Jones? Kevin Burnett? Are those changes enough to beat the Pats or Texans? I don't think so.

Reggie Bush? Nope.

So we still have a 7-9 team out there. That team can't beat these good teams.

We may need a different coaching staff, sure, but I don't think there should've been much hope if any coming into these two games. These were Ls on the schedule before the season even started.

What's painful is that we play the Texans nearly every year, and while they're getting better we're regressing.

As much as i hate to say it you are right. Nothing big was changed. We need to make a HUGE splash in the Draft next year and then FA. Next season we need to make alot of changes.
As of right now we need to make some kind of move for a CB and maybe another lineman or something. If we can somehow trade for asante samuel from the Eagles i think that would be a major upgrade.
Have him as our 1 then VD as 2 and SS as 3 and ALlen as 4. Then cut carroll. also how about signing or at least looking into darren sharper. I know they want to get younger but i think he would help.

I didn't see us doing anything until Sparano and Ireland were fired.

I'd say Henne, even in 2 losses, is better than last year. Crowder is gone, that's good. And today, Thomas played really good. One fumble does not make him a bust. The man ran hard.
I think we have personnel to compete, but the coaching is lacking.

The Texans are now 1 of the best teams in the league? Based on what? They beat the Colts(who are one of the worst teams in the league without Manning), and they beat us(a mediocre at best team). Please don't try to sugercoat this. We ****ing suck.

Just tired of getting excited for football every year and then losing every year. For me I guess after a decade or more of losing and not being in a super bowl for almost 30 years it is exhausting. I agree with you that we shouldn't expect them to beat either the Pats or Texans but we were hoping with the new additions and an improved Henne we might win one of them. Losing so much at home is also a bummer. Making it worse we see teams like the Falcons, Lions, and even the Bills now at 2-0, even though they haven't played who Miami played, us being 0-2 after back to back 7-9 seasons just gives the impression Miami is being left behind with no direction while other franchises are moving forward.

Bottom line, we fans just need somewhere to hang our hat of hope.
