Miami will be selecting Howie's son first overall this April 26th at 3:09 pm. No one will be drinking the Matt Ryan Kool-aid enough to trade up to #1 to get him and Parcells & Co. won't be taking him either.

I know, I know.....I'm hardly Nostradamus with my above statement but the facts are facts. Chris Long is a front seven defensive player (whom Parcells has a history of drafting in the first round) worthy of the #1 selection and has absolutely no holes in his on field game and off field behaviour. If you're going to guarantee someone 35 mil, it's someone like Chris Long. Someone who'll be to several pro-bowls and play til he's in his mid-late 30's barring injuries.

My wild card pick will be Vernon Gholston. His measureables are better but his motor is inconsistent. Higher ceiling, lower floor.

I don't think we pick Matt Ryan ( Another Joey Harrington, same college story) but if we do, I'm jumping off a bridge LOL

Depends if we trade JT. If we don't you are talking about the wrong Long.

I would take Mcfadden. I don't trust Ricky and Ronnie may or may not be the same after the injury. A RB tandem of Mcfadden and Ronnie (if he's healthy) would be awesome.

Can Taylor and Long not play on the same team?

Well between Taylor, C.Long and Porter that's what 26-28mil a year for OLB's. When did this position become so much more important than the O-Line! Let alone to have that much money tied into two actual positions between three people is a good way to screw ourselves cap wise.
We HAVE to trade Taylor if C.Long is the pick or J.Long should be the pick.

Thats rediculous, McFadden would just be a luxury pick that we cannot afford at our current state. And he is the only top player i would completely rule out for a few different reasons:

1. The tuna has draft a defensive player 1st in his last 6 drafts.
2. He has some off the field baggage, which the tuna doesnt put up with.
3. A RB is always one hit away from his career being over, and have shorter NFL careers historically. Its not someone you want to have to guarntee more than $30 million to.
4. Plus, we have about 3 or 4 glarring needs that dont include RB.

I say C Long because Tuna loves personnel he has connections with. And this baggage stuff is bs he's already proven that he was lying about that.

JT will likely be traded at some point (perhaps into Sept even). Joey Porter is not long for this team.....he's a mouth piece and Parcells does not want outspoken players like that on his teams. That and he's on the downside of his career and making too much money. I'd be surprised he sees opening day '09. So Chris Long is a no-brainer to have a position and be a player to contribute will into the next decade.

I would like to see us take either one of the two longs or gholston with the first pick. Cause I would really hate to face the Jets or Pats twice a year with long or gholston. If we pick gholston jake will likely go to falcons and chris will go to the raiders

1. just because Parcells has drafted a defensive player in the the first round the last 6 drafts doesn't mean he has to keep doing it forever.
2. Ricky has more baggage than Mcfadden. Mcfadden is only 20 so he's allowed to make a mistake or two.
3. Every player that plays is one hit away from his career being over.
4. Our team was 1-15, they have needs pretty much everywhere.

That's being very very kind to our Dolphins. OT,OG,TE,WR,DEx2,OLB,ILB,CB,SS long term.

Ya I agree, but i was talking more about the positions that abolutely have to be addressed THIS offseason (mainly from the draft).

#1 Priority:
OT, CB, LB

#2 Priority:
OG, TE, WR, S, DE

This team has too many holes to draft a RB, especially when we have three very good ones. If Ronnie stays healthy he can be a top 10 back in the league, Ricky has still shown he can be reliable, and Lorenzo Booker, showed last year that he is an excellent 3rd down back. I couldn't see us taking McFadden here.
