Food and Whiskey

Haven't been to Miami since 1993, but one of the coolest places I went there was Dan Marino's Bar & Grill and, of course, Shula's Steakhouse (unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go there).

Funny story: My late dad and I went to Marino's back in 1993. We were a little lost when we were going to Dan's. My dad (being a huge Notre Dame and Dolphins fan, as well as being dyslexic) stopped and asked a construction worker, "Excuse me...can you tell us how to get to Joe Martino's Bar & Grill?" šŸ˜„ The guy didn't even miss a beat and said, "Go straight for four blocks and then take a right. Go two more blocks and it's on your right." Great memories!

I hope you enjoy your time in the 305!

Elbo room in Ft Lauderdale is a dump dive bar but draws a crowd including celebs and athletes. Super casual right across from the beach

E11even in Miami is another option depending how hip dad is.

Hey guys,

Heading down tomorrow night from CT for the game this weekend. Need some advice on where to eat and drink some good Whiskey in the Miami area. Any suggestion's????
Wait. You need to redo the thread name and the post. You're only allowed to post threads that cry like a little girl about something to do with the owner, Flores or Grier.

I can't speak for the whiskey part. However, if you want some legit Cuban food, go to La Carretta (they have multiple locations).

Great story! I went to Miami for college spring break in 1996. Had a buddy bartending in South Beach and I was only 20 at the time. He took me to Dan Marino's American Sports Bar and Grill. Made my day! Still have my mug and some matchbooks from there. Somehow the mug survived the trip back to school in Rhode Island. Way off topic...but later went to Marino's out in Vegas. It was in Hooter's casino of all places. Still have a tshirt from that one.

Very cool! Is your mug to the white plastic one with the orange and aqua lettering? If so, I have the same one!

Bo Kampers in plantation and one near Fort Lauderdale Beach, As you may know Bo kamper is a dolphin Alumni so you will be amongst Many Fin fans.
I love Dolphins themed things as much as anyone on here. But anyone asking for food advice should not be sent to Bokampers. Sure, go watch the game there. Then depending upon the time of year go to Joes and get the lionaise potatoes and some stone crab after you people watch at Smith & Wollensky and follow that up with a 6th Avenue cafe empanada.

Youā€™re going to need a LOT of it (whiskey). Good planning.

Hah no, it's actually a glass mug with the orange and aqua lettering, like a shorter and wider one that holds more than 1 beer. That's why all these 25 years later, I'm surprised it survived a couple years of college after and multiple moves and all in the adult life! Was a great place to go as a fan from out of town in Miami for the first time, that's for sure.

If you want to go somewhere not too expensive and low key but with incredible food, go to El Mayoral Restaurant on,
15148 SW 72nd St, Miami, FL 33193.

Order what is called a Bandeja Paisa. You won't regret it.

They have that same plate in other places but this place does it great and the cost is reasonable.

I can't wait to see what happens to this forum if we get whooped by the falcons. I am hoping we win the game, but if we lose, it is going to be a win win for me, just to watch you people lose it, and justifiably so, after all this sucking for all of this time.

I don't know what this thread is about but watching the Dolphins last week without alcohol was a different experience

I think most of expect losses , I know for me the shock of sucking is over and I am much more relaxed during games because they mean squat. I do look for progress with Tua and Phillips though
