football question: muff or fumble?

football question:

i thought a muff was not considered a fumble... that was the way it always used to be, but it seems maybe they've changed it in recent years...

this has been a bone of contention for me in fantasy football in the past... as it goes as a fumble in the stat log now... anyone know when this changed?

its a fumble just like a pick is a interception

but the player never has possession... i know for a fact that in the past, it went as a team turnover, but the player doesn't get credit for a fumble... it was a seperate category altogether...

not making this up, .... but perhaps it's changed...
