For all of you who want to clean house...

There hasn't been any "rebuilding" here for at least two years - just short term moves with the misguided aim of staying in a job for a few weeks longer

well i dont think this is accurate. in fact as a parting gift in a sense we have to be thankful to ireland and sparano. because they DIDNT go out and trade for orton and pay him like a franchise qb. they DIDNT screw things up for the future for us. we dont have a bunch of aging veterans and cap killing contracts.

we are actually in very good shape moving forward as long as we get the right guy to pick talent and to coach it up.

we have talent, and we are in decent shape. its not a complete rebuild. the next head coach is in really good shape coming to miami.

ive been very critcal of these guys. but one thing ireland did not do - is do us dirty and try to take the win at all costs NOW attitude to save their jobs. they did the opposite. and i can respect that

How about going 1-9 at home in the last 10 home games? And how can you automatically say Houston is top seeded team based on their performance this year, but Miami isnt a bottom feeder team based on their performance this year? Makes no sense really. The Miami Dolphins are a joke and has been for 2 straight seasons. 2011 is just a continuation of the jokiness that was 2010 and NFL teams lick their chops when they play us. I bet every team we play has us penciled in as a win.

I'm not basing my opinion of Houston on the last two games. I see a very powerful offense that finally has a(n at least average) defense, in a weak division, with an easy schedule. They'll win their division, and have a good chance to get a bye.

As to the losing of home games, it's not like there's some magic over losing at home. They've faced good teams; luck of the draw. They've also had a 7-3 road record over the last 10 games. Arbitrary sample size for the win!

no we dont want to rebuild for 2-3 years BUT WE HAVE TO. this was a lost cause even prior to last year. the signs were there. it was clear sparano is not an NFL head coach. ireland can certainly find talent. but right now hes not the guy to lead a team in talent acquisition. too many glaring errors. too many things left unaddressed. too much talent let go. too many holes at the bottom of the roster never any attempt to fill. ireland has potential. sparano doesnt.

but this was clear 2 years ago. what do u do? stay with these guys 10 more years? 10 years of empty stadium and 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 seasons only to have sparano lose the close ones for us? should we aspire to remain mediocre?

OF COURSE you have to rebuild. we dont have a choice. i has to be done.. if 2-3 years is the price. then it is what it is. NO were not ready for it. but we werent ready to BLOW for 25 years either.

About as honest an answer as I could've hoped for. Thank you.

Now, who else is out there that is better?

Yeah, don't you get it. Sanchez is the guy who Rex wanted, He got him, he's winning with him, it's quite simple.

Rex inherited a talented d? who Revis and Harris who wasn't the Harris we know now, he got most of those players and put them in a system that terroizes defenses.

Again, what does getting the guy he wanted have *anything* to do with him winning games? He's not winning games *because* of Sanchez.

Look, Miami is not going anywhere with this current FO. Miami isn't make any moves that says otherwise. The draft tactic sucks. Miami isn't drafting any sure skills players in the top 3 rds. Miami isn't changing the way they draft and approach other matters as proven by the last 4 years. It's time for a change, they're only delaying the inevitable. The sooner the better. Miami could be in year 2 (more than halfway to being a respectable team again) of a new FO next season had they dumped Sparano last season. Think about it, let's say Ross did dump Sparano. Maybe the new HC drafts Mark Ingram in RD1 and Ryan Mallet in RD 3, two solid skills players to build around. Not an overrated center like Mike Pouncey. Mike Pouncey is not going to produce TDs. Next year is definitely the year to have a new FO to go get their guy: Luck, Barkley or Jones.

But he'll probably want to change schemes, pick "his" players (as Phinatic8u has so vehemently alluded to) and generally make HIS mark on the team.

Hell, if he didn't, he probably wouldn't want to come coach here. Unless we're going with another "unproven" HC once again - and be right back here in a few years.

I love getting bad players in the draft and Cowboy's trash.

Sign me up for 4 more years.

You people like the fist pump that much?

Again, what does getting the guy he wanted have *anything* to do with him winning games? He's not winning games *because* of Sanchez.

It shows balls, guts, the want to win, it shows me he's a real ****ing coach. His brother is the exact same way. Rex is winning because he's a good coach that knows how to beat he opponent with D. Sanchez isn't great by any means, but he's good enough to win games.

Hell, I'm ready to blow it up and clean house. What the Dolphins are doing now isn't working, changes MUST be made.

So is Henne.

I'll give you that Sparano is spineless in many situations. I'm not here to argue *for* the guy, just wondering if the lot of you realize what a change implies.

sanchez isnt great right now. but he is showing improvement. he is progressing, and he is mobile, and he makes some very good throws.

Offensive this team has almost all the pieces to a very WCO team. Need a RG, RT and maybe a QB(depends on what Henne does this year). The big WR and pass-catching TE, RB are already on the roster.

Just for that reason I'd go Gruden

Please change schemes and players! Because these schemes, players and groceries SUCK!
