First of all, I definitely think that its time for a quarterback change. I'm tired of the arguments that going to Sage would do more bad than good or that Gus is our "best" option. It's obvious that we need a change at the quarterback, so let's see what Sage can do. He's never really had an opportunity. He has only one start in the NFL and it was against the Ravens defense. Sage's first start in the NFL was better than Peyton Manning's, Eli Manning's, and Alex Smith's. Don't tell me this guy can't get it done. However, the most important thing when Sage becomes the quarterback (I honestly believe that Gus will continue to play himself out of the starter position, and Saban will make a change) we need to be PATIENT with him. We need to remember that Sage will make mistakes. In fact, it will be like a rookie quarterback growing in the NFL. I still believe that if Sage will ever be an NFL quarterback, WE need to find out and make that determination. I would hate for us to be the Falcons (who traded Favre) and let him get away. But remember be PATIENT. We've been MORE than patient with Gus.

OK I'll buy in. You start this week. And if that doesn't work We'll trade for LT in San Diego and start him. He has a better pass rating than Gus:goof:

I second that.

He's definitely more accurate than Gus :goof: When L.T throws the ball it ends up being a nice tight spiral right to the receiver. That's not a good sign when another teams rb can throw the ball better than you starting qb.

It's also not a good sign that a WR on the team can throw a better ball. Booker for Qb!

Personally I would like to see a change, but I am not there in every practice like Saban is. If he feels Gus is the best we have, then who am I to argue. I have only seen Sage against backups and in mopup time. Who knows Sage could go in there and throw 4 INT's and totally keep us from winning. I don't know, I'm just looking for reasons why Saban would keep Gus in, but there have to be some or he wouldn't be doing it.

saban has seen rosenfels more this year than all of us combined in his whole career. he knows more than we do, believe it or not

We would hope otherwise since that would make Gus the best QB on the roster and that's scary. I hope we draft a QB or get a high pick for Leinart, Young, or someone.

i say we start marty booker... hes not doing much as a reciever...

This has been my point from the very beginning.....Saban knows the QB play sucks on this team, but he still chooses to start Gus week after week....why? He has to see something or lack of something in Sage. The only other thing that I can think of is the message that it might send to the team especially veteran players who might think that the coach has given up on the season if he starts Sage. This whole thing might be political.

A speculation about why Sage doesn't start could be that in practice he doesn't show the same grasp of the offense as Gus. It would be understandable because this is his first year with this playbook. If we went with Sage it would be a step back for the entire offense because we may have to scale back the offense. That may be the reason Saban doesn't want to change.

Here's my take and I believe I have it pegged. Due to the entire AFC East sucking wind. I don't think you'll see a chang at QB until Saban thinks we're officially out of the playoff hunt. To me, that means we have to have had more than 8 losses.

That's unless Gus starts playing so bad that even Saban says F this. Personally, I think we're at that point already but then, I ain't the coach.
