For Fun, Name Your Choice For Best GM In The NFL

I have always admired Bill Polian from afar, where ever he has been his teams are competitive.

I liken him to baseballs John Schurholtz in that he often is critizied for have good but not championship teams(Indy silenced that critic) but no matter where he's been Buffalo,Carolina or Indianapolis.

I'd give consideration to Ozzie Newsome & AJ Smith, so give me your choice's as NFL's best GM.
 
AJ Smith.

I truly believe Ireland will be up there one day.
 
The very first guy I thought of upon reading the thread title was AJ Smith. Polian's right there also.
 
I just heard AJ Smith's right hand man, buddy nix is now the GM for buffalo

The guy running the Texans's draft office has been doing a pretty darn good job too.
 
Micky Loomis has brought some pretty good talent in to New Orleans. he also set up Seattle for some success after he left.
 
Polian without a doubt gets my vote. He's done wonders with the Colts and was the best GM Buffalo ever had before Wilson's daughter starting interfering with him. Since the GM hires the coach, he gets mega points for Tony Dungy. Smith, on the other hand, loses points for having squandered a few seasons when loaded with bear, by hiring Norv, and possibly for letting Marty go by making it personal instead of putting team first.

What's funny, is looking at this question in a vacuum from the outside, and not knowing any better, Rick Spielman's efforts on behalf of the Vikings from the Wall of Williams and Jared Allen to some excellent drafts would rank in the upper echelon too. IMO his worst decision was hiring "Chilly"
