Basically my question is, who would cost more? I hear the 1st pick is going to cost us about $35 mil. How many years are these rookie contracts? And what kind of contract is Flozell Adams looking for($ & yrs.)?
It seems to me that if the money is close to the same, I would rather sign Adams for 4 yrs., than draft Long. Obviuosly your getting a young Long, but we would have time to replace Adams. I would think he has 4 more good years left in him.

there are a lot of solid tackles we can sign in the second round. I would prefer Chris Long instead of Jake Long as far as Flozell it all depends on his asking price. Flozell can be good for 3-4 years.

flozell would be retiring right around the time we would hopefully be a contender again. doesn't make sense to pick him up. if we stay at #1, i hope we get j long and install him as our LT.

I'm just wondering who would cost more? The best LT in the draft or the best LT in free agency?

I found Joe Thomas' contract. 5 years $43 mil, $23 gauranteed

Who was the last FA LT in his prime to sign ?

Really the numbers now wouldn't matter(I'm 100% sure J.Long will cost the most), it's the last couple of years of F.Adams contract that would decide which costs more because if he is constantly injured or so slow that he's getting smoked we'll be screwed with his cap number for an ineffective player. Now J.Long in 4 years could very well look like a steal when all the LT's are getting paid a tonne more with the rise of salaries every year. So J.Long looks like he would cost more now but in the long run it would be most cost effective, barring him being a bust but the same could be said for F.Adams mailing it in.
