I just dont trust the guy, when hearing him talk. I liked Saban as a coach but felt he wasnt a good person. I think that Cam is a sneaky guy as well. I dont feel that he is honest and always sounds like he is hiding something. He says thats its an open QB situation but now its all Trent Green. He throws Daunte under the bus, after daunte working his *** off trying to come back. He drafts a 26 y/o QB who isnt ready to play yet. My feeling about drafting a guy that old is, he should be at least ready to be a backup. If he is the 3rd qb for a year, then next year is the backup, then starts, he will be 28/29 before he even starts a game in the NFL. I am just getting a feeling that our team wont be helped by Cam. He just seems like kind of a jerk.

Daunte threw himself under the bus by acting like a baby when told he would not be the starter (which imo was a great move as I feel Daunte is a washed up QB who will never be more than a solid backup again). I disagree with your assessment as I think Cam has been fairly upfront and honest when the time is right. However, I respect your opinion and wouldn't be surprised to see some fans share your view.

I basically dont like or dislike Cam so far but do feel he is already the king of coachspeak.

... He just seems like kind of a jerk.

And you liked Nick Saban? LOL.

Could you provide the exact quotes where Coach Cam says that there will be an "open" competition at QB? I don't remember that quote and would like to read it.

He won't find a quote to back that up, because Cam has never said it. This is just another one of Daunte's minions who is still miffed that Daunte was cut.

BTW I see no is RUSHING to sign DC....I wonder why

I'll give Cam a chance. I hate what they did with Daunte and beleive we will pay for it when we attempt to sign veteran FA's in the future. As far as every thing else, so far I like what he and Randy have done. Ginn will be special IMO and remember you people that still think you don't need a return specialist that with our D and a O that will have to develope that may have been one of the best moves we made in a long time. We will pin them deep and let the front 7 force them to punt short to a very, very fast and dangerous man. Beck will be fine. QB's play a long time usually.

The DC situation will have ZERO influence on signing future FA's.

1st off DC wasn't a FA, he was a trade. 2nd You don't sign any FA with a health issue.

I'm sure you will find the majority of fans feel the same way but not here on this site.

Your are entitled to your opinion bro, but it is way to early to throw Cam under the bus! We haven't even started camp yet, and we come up with a thread like this?

Did I say he was a FA? No! The NFLPA took Dauntes side so it is just ignorance and hatred that would make anyone think it won't effect our future. NFL vets seen what stupidity and selfishness our FO showed in a case where we rushed Daunte back and threw him in a fire and then would'nt let him work out and drag that BS out like that. Again IGNORANCE is the only way someone can say it won't effect us.

I am down with the conspiracy theory too.

1st we get a 2 and a 7th rounder for Welker a UD player...Then we cant get crap for Mcmike.

2nd we send a 4th or a 5th to KC for a guy who was gonna get cut...Then we cant getcrap for Pepper who when they said we had a trade ready and then it fell apaprt because WHY??

These things just dont add up for me...Cam has this year IMO to either make or Break...I am very nervous about how this team has went about its whole offseason but i am willing to give him a shot.

IMO being sneaky is part of being a good coach. I feel a coach doesn't owe an explanation for every little move they make he deserves some freedom. A coach can't show to much of his hand, you gotta kind of bluff to keep other teams off balance. This media interrogation of coaches has grown, before it never seemed like the coaches were grilled so hard ,I don't remember Shula getting all specific on his secrets and strategies. It just seems like nowdays people have to know everything who we are gonna draft?,why we passed on a certain player?,what plays we are running?, why was this guy not at practice?, why does this guy get the starting spot? ,why was that one guy cut? IMO let the coach do his thing ; let him create.I don't want to know everyting let's leave some things to the imagination maybe some mystery

It may have some affect, but money will talk and noone is turning down money for principle nowadays. I do think we saved a little face by releasing him and not having to have an outside judge that we were not treating daunte fairly. Joey Porter signed with us based on we were offering way more than anyone else in guarantees more than any other factor. trent Green proabbly got more money here than he would have got anywhere else beisdes the team that made him rich in the first place.

The jury is still out on cam as a coach, but anyone who has been around him or known him for a while will say he is anything but sneaky or a jerk.

They had a trade in the works to deal cpep, but it didn't work out. Probably due to Daunte more than anything. Its not like they had no idea what they wanted him around for but just felt like not cutting him.

No, we will never get the whole story, but if anything is rediculously one sided and probably not so intelligent, it is daunte's emails to the press.

He also never said there will be an open competition at quarterback.

I think he is a class act, but who knows about how good a coach he will be. Remember, he isn't the one in charge of cutting or trading Daunte. That is Mueller.

Any potential free agent is going to go where the money and the situation is right for them. It is a business. I don't see a professional football player saying wow Daunte Culpepper wasn't happy when he left Miami. I better not sign there. The world does not revolve around DC sorry to tell you.
