For the people who are calling for Sherman to be fired, but Philbin to be retained...

Every team in the NFL knows will CANNOT WIN games in the second half. We are a joke!

I hope they both go. Philbin hasn't really impressed me at all and if he wants to go down with Sheman, then so be it. The only difference I see between Sparano/Henning and Philbin/Sherman is now we have lots of hand clapping instead of fist pumps. Still the same boring low scoring offense that loves settling for FGs with the key similarity being more losses than wins.

I'm sorry to all the Philbin lovers...... But we have to change everything from the GM down. Ireland, Philbin, Coyle, Sherman, the water boys, the janitorial staff, the chefs, the laundry department, and dare I say even the scoreboard video crew. Our last game is the 29th, if I'm Ross......The above firings happen the 30th.

Yea I can't see it happening. Philbin needs to put more time into the offense again he scaled back the passing a bit now we are back in total pass mode.

pack Sherman and his "inlaw" Peabody's bags, and if Joe wants to go... let 'im. there's no crying coming from the fans.

Interesting. Did not know that about Sherman being instructed by Philbin to pass more. Thank you for the info, Skape.

If that is the case, and both have a hand in the offensive play calling, then both should go immediately.

Philbin's offense is based on short passes with precise timing. He has even said that the short pass takes the place of the run, so that's why there is no real urgency to improve the running game. As for gaining yardage, Philbin appears to place more importance on the receivers getting yards after the short catch than on the deep ball. However, when everyone knows that you constantly throw short passes it's easy for the defense to either take those away or tackle the receiver when he gets the ball. How many times have we seen passes of 5 yards or less when they need 6 yards or more for the first down? With no (or few) yards after the catch, they can't sustain drives without a good running game.

I've never liked their (Philbin/Sherman) offense at all, and can't understand why anyone would want to give them more time.
