This article is a link on the front page of the website. I don't find Tebucky Jones to be that big of a deal on a National scope. However, I think ESPN does because of the recognition the Dolphins get over the US. I'm so tired of seeing people say that ESPN ignores Miami when an unfavorable article is published about the team or no article at all. Now they have a "solid" players name on the homepage that is trumping bigger news such as Mike Martz and Ahman Green out the rest of the year. (Yes I know it was already on the webpage yesterday but that news regardless of being 24 hours or so older should still trump Tebucky Jones).

Just my $.02

TV is about making money and ratings. and they're going to show what gets the best ratings, thus what gets the best advertising, thus what gets the most money. therefore, if people want to see team A, they'll show team A. if no one wants to see team B, they won't show team B. it's a pretty simple formula. if the dolphins won 3 of 4 super bowls, they'd just as much coverage as the patriots

I totally agree.

If the Fins get there you'll see them giving us the spotlight and whatnot just as much as these other teams.

But as long as we are just another run of the mill mediocre team they'll treat us like whatever.

ESPN Magazine did run an extensive article about Tebucky Jones prior to the season starting if that could have anything to do with it, but it is nice to see the Fins getting some love.

I don't know about everyone, but it seemed to me that Pastabelly just stated some facts. There is no love nor is there damnation about this article. Means nothing to me...of course, I'm not concerned about how ESPN feels about the Fins or anyone else for that matter, but I don't get your point ??

Like coming up with excuses for why Joe Theismann still WORKS THERE!
there's really no excuse for that. none whatsoever. theismann apparently has some pictures of an ESPN exec in a unsettling situation

I don't think ESPN treats us any better or worse than the rest of the NFL teams....when we start winning regulary again we will get more love. The
Dolphins don't get the kind of love the Patriots get because we have not
won 3 SB's in the past 4 years. When we were 2-1 we got some nice props.
Everyone wants love and instant success...it takes time, but Nick is taking us to the Promised Land so just have a little patience. :)

My point was that I've seen threads in the past people have made saying ESPN never talks about Miami and when they do it's always bad. I disagree, and the link to the article I posted is my example that it is untrue. For a player like T Jones to be recognized on a national scale isn't that big of a deal IMO.

If miami didnt play like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde week in and week out ESPN would probably give the Dolphins plenty of spotlight or media exposure, but its easy to notice that good analysts at ESPN recognize that Miami is still a year or two away from really contending. Those analyst are Tom Jackson, Chris Mortensen and John Clayton. The other analysts suck so i dont pay attention, but when these three talk i take note and every time they mention miami they say few years away from contending.
