For the record: We are going nowhere this season!!

This season is when all these players are going to start jelling together. It will be about 2-3 years before we will be good enough to be competitive.

Remember this is practically a new team. They have to see how they will work. It will take some time, but when we do. We will once again have the DYASTY in our hands.

:peace:
Don't start stupid crazy threads until you have at least 10 posts, its the start of the season, no one wants to hear that negative krap!

Another Dolphin cynic hungover from the Dumbstadt era. To date I have not been wrong about Saban - and I am not wrong about my feeling and belief that we will be serious contenders this year.

I was right about Ricky - I said he would come back.
I was right about McMichael - said he had serious problems before his 2nd incident.
I was right about players wanting to come to Miami in droves.
I was right about Saban getting more offensive lineman in the last two days.
I am going to be proven right by Ricky running like nobody has ever seen him run before.
And I will be right about this Dolphin team going 4 and 4 the first half of the season and 6 and 2 or better the 2nd half of the season and playing for the division title in the last two weeks.

People on this site are surprisingly cynical about what Saban is going to do RIGHT NOW!

Look everybody, Dolphin fans are on the learning curve!

I've been lurking around this site for a while and finally joined and I like most of your optimism and wish I could share it. I'm not gonna predict that the team will suck, but a good season would be a nice surprise to me.

Wanny and Speilman caused alot of long term harm to this team and it will take a little while to get back. They traded away way too many high draft picks and drafted too many scrotes like Eddie Moore. Them passing on Brees and taking Fletcher was a mistake that most of us could see when it happened.

I love what Saban is doing with this team so far, but I can't see success until we have a real NFL QB and a secondary. With as pessimistic as I see things, I still say we sweep and finish ahead of the Jets.

12-4 afc eastern champions and will contend for superbowl 40 !!!!! miami vs dallas in the motor city baby!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not going to predict a record, but I think we will be competitive every game and we will surprise some people. We're in for a new brand of football and I'm really excited about it.

That's kind of the way I feel. I've got a good feeling about this team, but they haven't proven anything yet so you don't want to get your hopes up.
I think they will be the surprise team of the NFL this year. The one that sneaks up and bites you in the arse.

I hate people that dont realize that there is no such thing as a 2-3 year project in the NFL anymore. WIth contracts and **** the way they are teams change too much in that long of a time period. It is a day and age of winning now and if not then revamping your team. Not saying we will win this year but if we still go 4-12 I can bet my bottom dollar our team will look a hell of alot different the next season. The league doesnt give teams the time to gell any longer it is all about the present and not the future

We got Boston for Fletcher, so that mistake has been righted. Jury is still out on Moore. Look up and down the roster. The only real question is at QB. The O-line is shaping up to be a decent unit. They have the deepest RB corp in the league and excellent WR's/ TE.
Front 7 looks to be potentially devastating. There is a lack of depth at CB and some questions at Safety, but no team in this league (including the Pats) are solid in all departments. Many solid, well coached teams have had success with average/ serviceable QB's over the last few years (Ravens, Panthers, Bucs etc). I'm not exactly sure what your definition of success is.

It's called building though the draft, and signing smart contract FA's, once you achieve the team you want, then you retool each year.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. If they would have given us Brees, then it would have righted itself. This team still has no QB and SD was going to dump Boston no matter what. I like Boston as a player, but he still hasn't done anything for our team yet. Moore is a total sack of crap and he'll most likely never see meaningful playing time unless we're desperate. Isn't he injured again?

You obviously never watched Moore in college. He's been injury prone. But, a sack of crap he's not. He also was playing well last season if you bothered to notice.
Both Brees and Fletcher were drafted in either late 1st rd or early 2nd. Not exactly can't miss territory. Boston was injured last season, so by your standards any new player that is traded for a draft pick or any draft pick who gets injured is a wasted pick. I guess Dan Morgan was a wasted pick for the Panthers, seeing as he was lost for the season his rookie year.

with a couple of right bounces in the right direction, we could have easily been 7-9 or 8-8 last year. i think this years team is much improved and will be competitive in every game.

I agree, we didn't sign all these guys to 1 year deals not to be in the hunt this year. Maybe not a super bowl contender but i definately think that a wild card is possible. If our QB doesn't lose games for us, and our running game remains stout we could shock alot of teams. NO BODY SEES US COMING.............
