For the record: We are going nowhere this season!!

This season is when all these players are going to start jelling together. It will be about 2-3 years before we will be good enough to be competitive.

Remember this is practically a new team. They have to see how they will work. It will take some time, but when we do. We will once again have the DYASTY in our hands.

My gut feeling is that you're a hack just trying to ruffle feathers. But on the off chance you're legit, I'll play along.

Is it likely that we'll go all the way this year? No, I'll give you that much. But to say the Dolphins have no chance of "going anywhere" this year, or for the next 2 to 3 years for that matter, is nothing short of being narrow minded. Putting aside the fact my fellow posters have pointed out that we weren't that bad to begin with (we were a perrenial playoff team just over a year ago), you're ignoring the most compelling evidence of all, history.

As free agency has set in over the past 10 years, the NFL became easier to conquer and over a much shorter period of time. Used to be a team had to draft very well for 3 or 4 years, develop the talent without exception, and instill those players with an edge of confidence born by year-in-year-out winning football. But not anymore friends. Look at the Rams in 1999, the Patriots in 2000, the Ravens in 2001 (?), then look at thier previous year's record. I'll save you the time...they either sucked outright or were marginal football teams at best. But they got it done. And how? They came together as a team. They got a few lucky bounces. And more than anything, they got a big boost out of a key player that nobody saw coming (Warner; Brady; Dilfer). You find me someone who picked any of those teams for success at the beginning of their respective SB years and I'll show you a rich man. Those odds would have paid well.

Bottom line is none of us really now jack about what's about to happen in terms of record. What we do know is that they have talent, they have good coaching, and above all else, they have a chance in today's NFL. So does every other NFL team...well, maybe not the Cardinals, but you get my point.

by the way, I dont know about this DYASTY you speak of, but we will have a dynasty on our hands with sir Ronnie Brown becoming the next Tomlinson. Along with our new QB next year. And future probowl corner Poole, LB Crowder, and wide receiving corps that other teams drool over.......Oh yes we will rule....

might be a good idea to at least wait till Ronnie Brown was officially a Dolphin before Knighting him and comparing him to LT. Some would even go as far as to wait till they saw him play a game or two.

It starts in the trenches....its all about the offensive and defensive lines.

yeah your right. as far as building a team, i say thats what you want first.

to be honest, i think our OL will be OK, though not dominant. however its a pretty young unit.

the DL is a question mark, but its pretty deep. that way the FA pickups can pace themselves over 16 games

what i meant about the QB is that a good one is needed to go somewhere i.e. the super bowl as opposed to an 8-8 "nowhere"

Hahahah I know. His reply sounded like a high school pep rally.

What year is this? 1975? People, teams go from doormat to playoff contender and vice a versa within one season nowadays, its what parity has done in the modern NFL. For example, look at last season.....the Jets, Steelers, Chargers & Falcons all advanced to the postseason last year after finishing with losing records in 2003.

And when you really break down all of our games last season we could have easily gone 7-9 or 8-8 last year. Now, with a much improved coaching staff and some more talent, I don't see why we couldn't compete for a wild-card berth this season.

See I'm excited for our D-line. If Traylor can keep his lard butt healthy, Saban can mold Wright & Vickerson, and Carter can keep up his stellar play I think we're in good hands. Our D-line can be deeper than most give it credit for.

I'm not worried about the O-line as long as Whitley or McKinney don't start.

No Superbowl = No where

Bottom line

All the NFL teams play for one thing and that is the Lombardi trophy. If you dont get that then you aint nothing.

well that is just what we are going to try and do and youn know what can you prove to us the finfans that our dolphins cant win the superbowel this year?? huh?? let me tell you something we have as good of a shot to win it as the rest of the other 31 teams what are everybody 0-0 so since we havent played a game and nobody knows how good or bad we are im saying we have a chance and another thing just because you dont win it every year dont mean you aint nothing that just means you are not a true fan or even a football fan :fire: :shakeno:

Well actually I have 3, genius:)
This post confirms he is a troll. He added a happy face to avoid being banned, he can just claim he was joking. Team killing on first person shooters is the only thing worse than trolling on opposing fans websites, for how pointless and annoying it is.

This just confirms that I should no longer read his posts.

Thanks for saving me precious time.

Great to see your confidence level in the fins.:shakeno:

I haven't finished reading through this whole thread, but to throw my 2 cents in (well.. 1.5 cents since I'm Canadian), I think that we should be happy if we end up around 8-8 this year. I think we'll be a very competitive team and a damn good one in the next couple of years, but this year we have a really hard schedule.

No I am not a troll. Im just being real.

Wait till the season is over and we miss the playoffs. All you guys are going to be flaming the Dolphins on how suck they were or on why did we waste a pick on Ronnie Brown. Just wait, every year it happens. Yall get all hyped up before the season starts and by the time the season ends yall become Dolphin haters.

The thing you finfans need to realize is that patience pays. Yall want everything right here right now. Yall call yourself fans but will yall still be at the stadium cheering your team for a win when we are out of the hunt for the playoffs? Chances are your not. I went to the Browns game last year and was sad to see the whole upper section pretty much empty, but yall call yourselves fans. I personally root for my team during the bad and the good.

All Miami sports fans are the same. They love there team when they are winning but they dont care when they are losing. Look at the Marlins, yall wanted a new stadium but when do you ever see a sold out or at least a half full pro-player stadium? Thank you, very rarely. Call me whatever you guys want but I am true fan, I cheer for my team till the last second of the last game. Most fans dont. I know most of you here are hardcore finfans but the majority in general are just fairweather fans.

And I hope I am wrong. If I am wrong I will dedicate a flame thread to my self so that yall can flame me all you want. But I just think it will be about three years before we will be in contending status for the Lombardi trophy.

Cheers
