For those upset we haven't drafted a WR yet.....

Streeter! hes 6' 5" and runs a 4.40 40-yard dash. hes exactly what we need in a wr. we take streeter in the 5th and take antonio allen ,the safety from south carolina in the 4th.

When it comes to WR I think there are a couple slot caliber wr's left as well as streeter who is another potential burner. That said the Dolphins simply had too many holes to fill for their draft to provide starters for all of the positions. Going into the draft I didn't believe the fins were a one year fix and I still don't but they certainly will leave this draft a lot better than they came into it.

Fuller is too inconsistent. If he could only catch the ball consistently he could be a force because he has great size and runs good routes, but too many damn drops. I personally hope we land Juron Criner, he's getting burned because of his 40 time, but he's perfectly suited for the WCO; big body (6'3), runs good routes, good hands.

I was just watching video of him a few minutes ago and I like the fact he was catching with his hands....big target that Tannehill could use.

Its like building a plane... with no wings!!!

Or like building a car without shiny 22" rims. We'll work on upgrading the engine, the tires, exhaust, interior, etc. and stick with the stock rims for now. Once all that's done we can get the shiny big rims to finish it off.

first, I haven't been Ireland's biggest supporter but I think he's doing fine so far in this draft. Here's my question.......according to most people on this board, this team is doomed and nowhere near the playoffs. At best I've heard that with an easy schedule we might be able to win 9 games.......going into the draft we had holes at QB,WR,RG,RT,TE,corner, safety and pass rusher(either a DE or LB). That's 8 positions.....we have drafted a total of 4 players right now so I ask, how do you fill 8 spots with 4 picks? I was hoping for a WR too last night but let's face it, it we had taken one instead of say the DE, people would be saying we'll have no pass rush.....if we had taken a WR instead of Martin then they'd say our o-line is messed up......of course my point is that we had too many holes and only so many picks........we have the 103rd pick and you might get disapointed again cause we might take a corner or a DT at that point. I'm still hoping for a WR but we had many holes and offence needed some love and we took 3 guys there already. We'll see what happens today.

Team is rebuilding remember? This year and next is already over. Duh.

You dont. This team has to many holes for one draft. Those who thought everything was going to be fixed after this single draft were delusional.

That being said, we spent playmaking draft picks on a offensive lineman. Martin is a good player, but we had a chance to get talented players for an impact position. We have a 4 year history on spending picks that could be used on game changing positions that we instead use on offensive lineman. How has it worked out?

This team is treading water until Tannehill is ready. We could have afforded to take a "project" wideout(wideouts usually take a year or two to develop anyways). Now, in typical fasion, we have to burn high draft picks on positions that weve failed to fix before instead grabbing talented players who could help us put points on the board. Theres a reason why the Giants, Steelers, and Ravens consistently do well. Its because, come draft day, they aren't afraid to make their strengths stronger.
Jim Shwartz(another team that kills it in the draft) said it perfectly concerning the draft:

"You don't solve needs by drafting poor players," Lions coach Jim Schwartz told reporters in Detroit. "… There's a discipline that goes into it. You have to be able to stick with that philosophy. The philosophy is: 'Talent rules the board.' … If you chase need, you're chasing a moving target. What looks like a need one day might not be a need another day. If you have the discipline to say, 'Hey look, let's get good football players that fit a philosophy that we have a plan for, that continue to be the highest rated guys on your board,' then you're going to be successful over the long run.

"Even in this organization in the past, I think everybody knows some examples where this organization reached for certain players because of needs. I don't see how that solves your need. When it's all said and done, the need is still there."

edit: and before people lose their minds, i have liked this draft. I even realize that Martin will be a good player. But damned if we didnt miss a chance to set up our offense for our rookie quarterback for years to come.

Other than Tannehill, I am actually pleased with this draft. I have to say Ireland has impressed me but IMO these next rounds are the most important. Time to find a gem at wr.

If you're referring to Criner, I could see him and Tannehill making beautiful music on the field together. We need another reliable receiver, not one that can only run a 9 route.

I am talking about him. Would not mind him at all at 103 if he's still there.

Easy schedule?

Dont you know? Every upcoming schedule is easier then the previous years schedule.

I'm not sure who started this phenomenon on finheaven, but whoever it was had to be a comedic genius. Some of the leaps in logic that people use to justify the upcoming season are hilarious. Just watch some of the posts in the coming weeks.
Adam Strange nailed it, its a laughable concept.

I think this is where Ireland sees the value in WRs in these rounds. I see at least two here.

What exactly did we get for trading back in the third? I missed everything here in Kuwait haha

We should have plenty WR we like come our 4th and 5th round picks.
