For those who worried about our secondary !

The Patriots were 32nd in the league last year, and they lost some people. So I'd say we're in decent shape. :dolphins:

I actually think our starters can be in the top 20 but I'm going to reserve judgement so I don't seem anymore insane than some think I am. I like Goodman and W. Allen and I want to see the safeties tomarrow for a long period of time.

Me too. But I'd actually like to see corners playing corner and safeties playing safety. At least that way we can eliminate the excuse (if one is needed) about players not playing their natural position.

I'd also like to see us improve mentally. I've heard (and agree) that much of our mistakes can be blamed on the mental part (i.e., communication, not being where you're supposed to, etc.) versus the physical part. So, I'd like to see players improve on the mental part, minimize the breakdowns, and continue to show improvement from game to game. If not, then I could see us 32nd in the league.

I know who your talking about and feel you on that one. maybe Saban will leave Hill,W. Allen, Goodman, and Tillman in until the 3rd. He says he has been mixing it up and I beleive that may hurt us if he keeps playing revolving door in the secondary.

We did swarm to the ball alot better last game so maybe we will show improvement on other things tomarrow.

I bet Jason Allen has been working his butt off trying to master the system for both the safety and cornerback positions. Saban has him on the fast track to be a starter right away, so he better be working 14 hours a day on his playbook, his technique, and studying film of himself and other top DBs in the NFL ...as well as the tendencies of top NFL receivers like Steve Smith and Keyshawn Johnson.

He's going to need to know the moves and favorite routes of each receiver he might face in each upcoming game. It looks like Saban has a lot of expectations with Jason, so he's going to need to climb the learning curve pretty fast in order to get the confidence and comfort level he needs to take on top receivers like Steve Smith.

what is aorried??? And how do you become it??

I'm glad you asked. It's an old mariners term or statement really that simply means "those who ask stupid question about obvious type o's should keep their comments to themselves".

and we were 20 something in the league...whats your point?

My point is our secondary is still better than theirs, and we've improved in other places enough to take the division. I think we'll be fine, if healthy, and will improve considerably thoughout the year. We are very young in the secondary. We have upside. If you want to spell it out for you everytime I'll personally send you cliff notes with every email. Just for you !
