After One bad season it seems like everyone in this forum is bashing on Chris Chambers. Not only was it a bad season but it was his worse. From 2001 Chris Chambers has been VERY productive despite the fact of having absutlely no decent QB to throw him the dam ball.

2001 he played all 16 games and had 883 yards with 7 TD (48 rec)
2002 he played in 15 games and had 734 yards with 3 TD (52 rec)
2003 he played all 16 games and had 963 yards with 11 TD (64 rec)
2004 he played 15 games and had 898 yards with 7 TD (69 rec)
2005 he played all 16 games and had 1118 yards with 11 TD (82 rec)

Those are great numbers, then all the sudden....

2006 he played all 16 games and had 677 yards with 4 TD (59 rec)
And after his worse season, everyone wants to just forget about him?

Most of yall have no idea what Chris Chambers has gone through since hes been a Dolphin.

Heres a list of all the QB's who have thrown a pass to Chris Chambers
Jay Feilder
Ray Lucas
Brian Griese
AJ Feeley
Gus Frerotte
Daunte Culpepper
Joey Harrington
Cleo Lemmon

Lemmon, Harrington, Culpepper all started this season, did you expect Chambers to be right on page with all 3 Quaterbacks!?!?! no surprise that he would have his worse season.

Chris Chambers can never get into a rhythm with any of his QB's b/c the roster changes every year! Not to mention none of those QB's are starting material. He goes through so much crap with a new QB, a new offence, and a new coach. How can any WR be consistant with all that?

Hes been through so many different QB's and who knows how many different offences. He can never find a comfort zone.

You are right but it just seems its the same argument from both sides and both sides our fed up with hearing each other! One side says they don't want the excuses he should perform the way he gets paid regardless and the other side says he would if the rest of the team was put together! So until management does something about our offense and our coach gets everyone on the same page we will never know how good he can really be!

Through out all of those season, you have failed to analyze how inconsistent he has truly been. And he has been the #1 target after all...

Statistics are only good if the "context" in which they were accumulated are understood. What you have failed to include is the context in which it took to accumulate those numbers which would be "targeted" and "dropped passes" and "passes defensed." When you include those and compare him with other WRs the statistics you are using to try and prove how good Chambers is turns out to be proof of how "bad" he is.

Miami's game plan has taken a similar approach with Chambers as the saying, "If you throw enough poop (PG13 version) against the wall some of it is bound to stick," by if our QBs keep throwing enough balls to Chambers he is bound to catch some.

I realize you may be a hard core Dolphins fan, as are most of us, but lets not fool ouselves. Chambers numbers for a #1 WR are not ovewhelming, by any stretch. Don't talk to us like we don't understand the game or follow it. Do you think we want to feel this way about Chris? Don't you think we want to talk about him as one of the best in the game?? Sure we do, we can't because he isn't. He is just as responsible for making the QB look good as it's the QB's job to make him look good. If Chris isn't getting the ball as much as he needs to, then he needs to make adjustments during the game to ensure he does get the ball, regardless of what pass play is called.

If Joey is a quick strike QB, then you as a WR need to understand this and make the adjustment to be open to get the ball, then make a move and pile up the Yac yards. That's what legit #1's do, not look for excuses why their not getting it done. Chris drops way too many easy passes...again his fault and he doesn't force the issue when he's one on one with a defender. He doesn't grind out the tough catches week in and week out and he is hot and cold, one week a big game the next week, where is he? These are the facts, not just someone looking to hate a guy I would love to brag about. He is what he is and the only one who can change it, is Chris.

Those are not great numbers unless your talking about a #2 WR. That's the argument us "haters" are trying to convey. Nice sig though. :D

For those who hate on Chambers

Being disappointed with a players poor productivity and performance is very different from hating them. Quit emotionally charging the issue with words like "hate".

let me set this straight............

#1 wdiereciever=chambers
#1 TightEnd= McMichael
#1 runnignback= Bown
#1 slot reciever= Welker
#1 FullBack= barnes
#1 QB= harrington/Culpepper

Im sorry but i can never insult a dolphins dat just da way i am, YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAA:dolphins: :dolphins:

No one hates Chambers. We just question a few things:

Is he right for our team?
Is he committed?
Is he a TEAM player?
Does he give full effort all the time?
Does he fight for the ball ALL the time?

IMO the answer is NO in all cases. Which means it's best as a fan of Football and the Dolphins we let Chris have a chance with another team, and for us to find the right #1.

I would say outside of this past season, those are #1 numbers, just not the numbers of an elite WR. And I will give that he is getting paid like an elite WR, not just a #1. So to that end, he was very much overpaid this past season. However,tThere isn't a doubt in my mind that CC is actually a number 1, there also isn't a doubt in my mind that he isn't an elite WR.

Just an observation...

I was just wondering if anyone remembered that Denver game back during Chamber's rookie season. He took that nasty hit from DB Kenoy Kennedy. It was a cheapshot to the head. After that play, Chambers never really did look right. Don't get me wrong, he's had some good games and even seasons, but it seems like ever since that night he hears footsteps or something that causes his dropsies. Just throwing that out there for what it's worth, because up until that game I thought he was consistent. I still think he's our best WR outside of McDuffie and Gadsden in the last 10 years, although Welker is growing on me as I've watched him play these past seasons.

I found it funny how just last season everyone was all about Chris Chambers and how great hes been, that he finally made the pro bowl and how he deserved it. And now after 1 bad season every just turns on him, kinda like how most people already gave up on Culpepper. Its not Chambers fault that hes NEVER had a decent QB. I mean is there any WR that is great with a terrible QB? We all know how good Randy Moss is, but he doesnt have a QB to throw him the ball.

#1 receivers should break 1000 yards every year. Chambers is terrible at getting seperation. Whether it's his route running, his speed or the routes themself the guy just can't get open.

Who's throwing to Lee Evans of the Bills? Not a great QB. Roy Williams? Andre Johnson? Please stop making excuses for Chambers.
