Yes, somewhat random post. I was just curious to see from the posters on this board who aren't from athlete-laden cities such as Miami, as to where you're from and if any big athletes in the NFL (or any other I guess) originated from there.

I'll start.

I had 2 hometowns---
Larchwood, Iowa--Kyle Vanden Bosch, and for a short while LeVar Woods(played for Cardinals)

Beatrice, Nebraska--Xavier Omon (was with the Bills but now with Seahawks)

Vanden Bosch is a great guy. Runs a camp every summer for kids in the area. Very personable man and one of the great guys in the NFL.

You?

Mike Hart - Onondoga HS, outside of Syracuse Ny..

Dorsey Levens went to a local Syracuse HS..

The Phins quality control guy on Offense was from Syracuse as well..

He coached a local syracuse HS football team

from Sanford fla....popoulation about 50,000---- Jeff Faine, Jeff Blake, David Eckstein,Tim Raines, Ray Ray armstrong, Dyron Dye, Andre Dubose,

I actually went to High school with Andre Blatche' he plays for the Wizards he was awful at basketball most of the time he played there..

But he was a really nice kid, really a jokester...

He was really poor too..gotta feel great about him doing something big with his life

the sharper brothers went to my highschool but they were years ahead of me and my old next door neighbor is fontel mines who is just a guy who played for uva and is now on da bears

Amsterdam, NY one of my best friends younger brother is an offensive lineman for the chicago bears - Josh Beekman

Probably one of the nicest, most generous down to earth person one could ever meet.

Im from Bradenton FL,

I went to highschool with Mike Jenkins CB Cowbiys, Rod Harper WR Saints, and Adrian McPherson For FSU And saints QB, Julius Wilson T, pretty sure he was on phins for a while, But yeah we all went to Southeast high school

Jamestown ND, My pee wee football coach was Darin Erstad.

From Wikipedia
So far, in an 14-season career, Erstad has compiled a .282 batting average with 123 home runs and 693 RBIs in 1817 games. He has been selected to the American League All-Star team twice (1998, 2000) and has eight game-ending, or "walk-off," RBI in his career.

Travis Hafner, of the Cleveland Indians was born in my hometown (but only because that was the closest hospital)

Closest I've got is Beaufort, NC where Michael Smith who piloted the Challenger was from. They have a nice memorial to him on the boardwalk.

Burtonsville Maryland- Darnell Dockett, the pro-bowl defensive tackle for the Cardinals use to live in my neighborhood. Me and my friends use to mow his lawn in the summer. Crazy to think he's now one of the best players at his position in the league.

None from my town (population 3000?) but we have a prep school here called Milford Academy. I believe they had four alumni players drafted this past year. One of them being Shonn Green (who played here in 2004) and another being Lesean(sp?) McCoy.

I actually met Dave Wannstedt when he was here scouting. Which i believe was the same year he scouted Lesean McCoy

Akron, OH is 'small'...isn't it?

On the Dolphins front, JT (not from Akron but attended Akron),

Lebron.

Leesport Pa...Chad Henne grew up in the same county (Berks) and played football at Wilson which is about 20 mins away. I went to Vo-tech and a freind in my class was a good friend of his. Wish I would of keept talking to that kid lol.

I'm from Lakeland and I guess we have our fair share of NFL players. Ray Lewis, Desmond Clark, Justin Forsett, Keydrick Vincent, Rod "He Hate Me" Smart, Freddie Mitchell (unfortunately), and some various other athletes.
