Over the past 24 hours or so there seem to be a lot of BP haters for what he is doing in FA so far. From what i see it is mainly the D linemen we have acquired. That they are not stud superstar kinda guys. If i am not mistaken down linemen in a 3-4 style which our new style have a much different job than the linemen in a 4-3. 3-4 linemen job is to plug running lanes force double teams and push the line of scrimmage back allowing the LB core to wipe up what is left. The pressure in a 3-4 defense normally comes from the LB core anyway the down linemen will occasionally get to the QB but their job is like i said to occupy the O line and collapse the pocket forcing the QB to the linebackers. With our new additions we have a possibly deadly rotation of down linemen.

DT Randy Starks, Titans, 6-3, 312 who has tons of potentialNT Jason Ferguson, Cowboys, 6-3, 310 who BP loves and knows that he can play NT
*Marques Douglas (visiting Miami today) 6-2' 295 DE who has played in the 3-4 could be the pass rush end we need

Along with our current roster guys

Vonnie Holliday 6-2, 290
Rodrique Wright 6-5, 300
Paul Soliai 6-4 344
Matt Roth 6-4, 275

AVG weight is around 295lb thats a lot to hold back for 4 quarters. Especially with a rotation of fresh guys.If we acquire Douglas i think Roth will be shown the door. But a rotation like that leaning on an O line for 3 quarters with this rotation would ware down anyone even the best. Allowing us to CLOSE it in the 4th. On top of that if we sign Pace and keep JT (if we cant fond the right offer if we are even interested in trading him) with a rotation of JT, Pace and Porter to basically go head hunting for the QB it could be a long day for any offense.

Nice Post...I like what I am seeing so far from BP and JI lets hope they keep up the good work

Great post, i agree with you 100 percent. NFL Network also stated that Bill haa done a tremondous job and that he has us on the turn around. Holy crap, we finally have some hope:hi5:

Matt Roth is here to stay! he is a valuable backup I hope he will be back to the role he filled in for Vonnie Holiday.

The Dolphins are switching a 3-4 alignment so
a) Roth cannot backup Vonnie Holliday
b) Roth does not really fit on this team anymore

Roth is not big enough to play end in a 3-4 alignment (that's what Holliday will be doing) and he's not agile enough to play linebacker either.
