I know there are those fans that were thinking that Schulters may eventually re-sign (myself included). I know he got beat on some plays last year, but he was also the BEST player in our secondary. Well, his days in South Florida are over. Here's a quote from the Sun-Sentinel.

As for Schulters, agent Brian Levy said Seattle and a team he declined to identify were suitors for his client. Schulters, who had a team-high four interceptions for the Dolphins in 2005, recently had a free-agent visit with the Seahawks.

Levy said Schulters isn't re-signing with the Dolphins, adding, "We made a mutual decision that something is not going to happen. He's going to be moving on. I have to have something done with Lance within a week."

please sign him, he was the defense catalyst in my eyes last year near the end of the seaso.. his ints were the difference..

What is the love affair with Schulters...he wasn't the best player in our secondary, Daniels was, and overall the secondary was mediocre at best ?? What does that tell you ??

Agreed, Coop is a mirror image of Lance only he is faster and younger.

Everyone on this website thinks Shulters is god just because he had a good first 5 games and he finished with 4 interceptions. Shulters, although he is a good veteran safety, at the end of the day he is a 32 years old at a position where players decline the fastest. Did anyone notice how bad Shulters coverage skills were late in the year? If Shulters was so good, then why do you think he is still on a market after free agency is pretty much dead. Seattle only wants him as insurance incase Ken Hamlin can't recover. They already have Michael Boulware. Plus in my opinion, I like Deke Cooper better!

who is the other great player Saban released? If you say Seau you should be smacked.

I thought everyone knew this was going to be a 1 year thing. It was a known fact that he'd sign for a year, then look for a more lucrative deal elsewhere. He was a nice player, but not outstanding. I wish him the best, but I think people are overreacting as usual.

Travis Daniels was the best player in the secondary last year..HMMMMMM :shakeno:

Travis Daniels only had one INT last year compared to Schulters' team high 4, but I thought Daniels grew more as the season went along. Schulters started out hot and won the Carolina game for us, but also gave up a few game changing plays when he gambled a la Terrell Buckley. He was a good player for us, but not a great one. With the players Coach Saban has brought in, I don't believe he will be missed.

Big loss for the team. Lance was developing very good in Saban's D. I beleive Saban can develop Cooper and will find good players in the Draft. Not worried. :tantrum:
