Suh is one of the best players in the game, that said, this team needs more than 1 elite player on defense in order to take the next step.

Suh would need to be signed to a huge contract, and would hinder us from getting good players in free agency, not only this off-season, but next off-season too.
The money we would need to sign him could be used to sign at least three decent players at different positions of need. We need a lot of good players on offense and defense, not just a couple of great players.

If we can get Suh for a reasonable price, we should definitely sign him, but we must be realistic.

Agree with everything you said

That post actually inspired this post.

What FA's did we fail to fit in that inspired this post?

The point of the post wasn't me saying I really want the guy, just that he could be fit in. It's not inline with my strategy in building a team, but Suh's a rare talent level to reach the market. I'd be plenty happy getting Dan Williams or Cedric Thornton to man the nose. Peter King said he expects Suh to get a $20M annual deal, if that's the case stay away for sure.

So, you would like a few more decent players over a star? Sounds like an 8-8 mentality, as we have plenty of decent players, and have had for some time.

It wasn't a personal attack on your opinion or post. Your entire scenario actually sounded ideal to me, other than signing Suh. If we did everything you said, plus resign Starks, we would be in great shape with a lot of cap space to spend for players in other positions.

I said I would rather have 3 good players, at positions of need, over 1 elite player, at a position we are not even weak at.

I might pay $20mm to have him kick Brady in the nuts, shove his fist up his backside and step on his throwing hand...

Believe me I agree with the ideology. That's why I hated paying a premium for Wallace. Suh's just one of the best players to hit the market that we could conceivably get. I'm probably higher on Mitchell than most and his deal is really affordable after this year, and pretty good this year. I'd rather him at 3-tech tho, which makes Dan Williams probably the best fit.
