Honestly guys, if this whole Martin fiasco means getting rid of Ireland, then it was worth it. Check this out:

@ckparrot29m
The rationale that formerly protected Ireland, that he wasn't responsible while Parcells was around, can now be used against him.

@ckparrot29m
Dolphins offense and defense have collectively accumulated a +68.4 overall grade on PFF. Only +1.4 of that was acquired post-Parcells.

@ckparrot26m
Clarification. There are 13 players on offense & defense that were originally acquired before Parcells left. They have a +67.0 grade in 2013

@ckparrot25m
The 32 players acquired by Ireland after Parcells left have a collective +1.4 grade in 2013.

Wait, WHAT???? How is this possible????

"" The 32 players acquired by Ireland after Parcells left have a collective +1.4 grade in 2013." Ireland's drafts have been awful. He needs to go.

The teams Parcells and Ireland drafted were built to play a different style than what Philbin is implementing.
Many have wondered why Philbin was trying to force a certain style of play on this team even though we don't have the personnel (OL mainly) he needs.

That said, this team has 8 games to show they are better than last year. I think they get 9 or 10 wins this year.
That would be more wins than any of Parcells years here except his first where he won 11 games with the team he inherited.

CK. Astute as usual.

I don't care if Ireland stays or goes honestly. But did CK write a bible that I don't know about? PLEASE. CK knows just as much as the rest of us. Quit worshiping his OPINION. You're grown men and it's disgusting.

I'd like to clarify something: Ireland probably WILL be fired and I will not be disappointed at all. The only thing disappointing is that we're going to likely start all over with an entirely new coaching staff. Uggh.

As far as CK: Well, I didn't mean that as an attack on him really. It's simply this: everyone on this board has an opinion and none are ultimately more important than the next. Each person is entitled to their own. But for some reason, too many people take his word as gospel - which it is not. He does have informed opinions a lot of the time. And that's great. I like to think myself, and many other long time posters on this board, also have very informed opinions. I don't expect everyone to agree with me just as I don't agree with everyone else all of the time. Such is the nature of a fan forum.

But Nolan Carroll, john jerry and jimmy Wilson have all either started or played therefore they were good picks.

If you read the quotes, you'd realize it's actually not his opinion. Its that of the PFF guys. Way to pay attention.

Miss that guy....Honestly though Ross really shouldn't need all that data.Ireland sucks at drafting,sucks at FA acquisitions and sucks at bringing in quality Coaching.

I knew Ireland sucked for sure when Ireland traded up and drafted Daniel Thomas.

I sure as heck didn't need any further confirmation after that.

Seriously, dude traded up for Daniel Thomas.....

I think Martin is going to end his career.

Ireland should go, he just hasn't proven enough in six years as a GM. Six years and we're still no better than mediocre at best. A new GM couldn't do any worse. This new mess in one of his second round picks is only the nail in the coffin. I just want Philbin to stay. I believe he still deserves a chance to prove himself, a year and a half isn't enough.

The one thing that could make all the difference in the Jeff Ireland and Bill Parcells comparisons: Ryan Tannehill vs. Chad Henne.

Then again, Ryan hasn't proven anything yet, so it's still undecided. Only time will tell.

I agree with all of this.

Especially the bolded part. With all the hate there is for Ireland, he's done nothing to keep his job, just move on.

And seriously, I'd obviously out a emphasis on hiring a guy who knows how to build a team, but lets not neglect hiring a guy who maybe has at least a little personality and at least acknowledges the fans.

I really don't know, because I look at the team, and all the players that can make or break (IF they can't play) all came after the Parcells era.

Ireland's career will not be over, I hear he was one HELL of a ball boy.
