This is for the real old-school fans. I'm not sure if I will have the opportunity to interview the Inaugural season team MVP this summer, but I do have his contact information. I am wondering about two things before I were to do this:

1) Who is interested in having us catch up with Joe Auer? I need to see if there is a demand before I drive out a-ways in Central Florida.

2) If you are, please submit a question you would like me to ask.

Thanks guys!

I'm interested TT, please do it !

Joe,
How did it feel being a home town kid , to take back the very first kickoff in Miami Dolphins history for a touchdown. Describe it for our Finheaven fans...

edit; to save my life I had to correct a minor problem

Which is exactly why I am asking :)

I would say do the interview. But when finished, do a extensive pre-write up letting people know who he is and what he did.

I can help you come up with questions and the background info if you need it. Just email me at my aol account we can talk.

If I do decide to go ahead with it and after it's set up, I may contact you about it. So stay tuned :)

But TT you could ask him what does he think of Saban.

Here's a little information:

It was Auer who took the opening kickoff in the Miami Dolphins' first-ever game and returned it 95 yards for a touchdown. Not surprisingly, he became the Dolphins' first MVP. His pro career also included seasons with the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons. He has been involved in racing for more than 30 years. Auer also is owner and president of ICN, a highly successful global technology consulting/training firm, which he founded in 1975.

I have a little poster that has the Dolphins greatest moments in franchise history and it has him on there. He wore #32 and the date when he returned the kickoff was Sept. 2, 1966. The Raiders was the first team that we played.
