Former Dolphin Perry To Join Chiefs

I am just amazed it took 11 weeks into the season before somebody signed him.

Tight end Ed Perry, who was the Dolphins' long snapper in five of six seasons between 1999 and 2004, is expected to sign today with Kansas City, Coral Springs-based agent Marc Pollack said. A 10-year NFL veteran, the 31-year-old Perry was beaten out for a roster spot in the preseason by rookie John Denney.

is it really fair to say he was beaten out for the starting job??

they were close enough in camp that Saban felt comfortable letting Perry walk to save the team some money. I wouldn't say be got beaten outright

but good for him, he was a great snapper for us and I wish him all the best

Same here...I thought he would be picked up the day after we cut him. I remember really missing him when Denney botch a snap early on in the season. Best of luck to him. There goes another reliable vet to the Chiefs .

he did add, "After that shaky start he's settled in" to his statement. And after all, it is his first season.
