Simple message to all guys pushing 45 and older - get your prostate checked by your doctor. While the nature of the examination can be considered "awkward or uncomfortable", it is better to check and know if there is a problem or not. If a prostate problem is found early it can be successfully treated.
On this subject, I think I read where the great Vince Lombardi ultimately died from prostate cancer. He refused to be tested. While he goes down as one of the greatest coaches, he should also be remembered as a fool for refusing to bend over and get checked.

Best of luck to Cam from a fellow prostate cancer survivor. DAT **** GOT NUTTIN ON US CAM!!

Best of luck to him, awful news

he will fight this and survive. any coach that survived the Ted Ginn saga and 1-15, can beat cancer!

I love LSU as much if not more than the Dolphins, and I apologize if this doesn't belong here. But I thought it's relevant. Good news is, he's already been treated after being diagnosed weeks ago and ready to lead LSU to the SEC title this year.

Just FYI. Sorry if needs to be moved.

I hate seeing ANYBODY get cancer, have lost too much family to it.

Terrible news. He seemed like a good man. Just a bad NFL head coach. He shouldn't have been put in that position. I think that was Huizenga's hail mary last try at fixing the Phins before he sold the team. I hope he's ok.

Cams message to proctologist, "I need to see your finger pointed This way"

And if you happen to get a positive biopsy, depending on how fast or slow the cancer is growing you may not need any treatment, at least not right away... I sell a molecular marker for prostate cancer. They can look at the biopsy tissue and using cell cycle genes determine a ten year mortality rate and an individual's cancer aggressiveness. Most low risk and some intermediate Risk prostate cancer patients should be on active surveillance, if the tumor is slow growing. Regular visits to the urologist to get psa blood level tests will show if things are progressing and treatment can be had then, surgery, radiation or hormones all have major side effect possibilities... Erectile dysfunction, incontenance, leaking, lose an inch of Weiner length, man boobs etc. over treatment is a big deal and these new tests can delay treatment until the right time or also can find people who are low risk that some doctors already offer Active surveillance too have a more aggressive cancer and earlier treatment is needed. Would you want to be placed is one of three risk groups or have an independent look in at how your own cancer is acting?!? the test I rep starts with a P and I've seen it change many treatment decisions for the better. Want more info for yourself Google prostate cancer biomarker P and it will pop up. Company that invented this is the same company that invented the BRAC1 genetic test for breast cancer, the one that Angelina Jolie used...

Good for him. I wish him a full recovery. F*** cancer.

He did a terrible job as HC, but obviously I wish him the best in his fight and unlike Saban (who I wouldn't wish cancer on either), I bear no ill will towards him.
