▪ It’s the May before DeVante Parker’s fourth NFL season, and the Dolphins are again waiting and wondering to see if this is finally the season he puts it all together.

His coach apparently is happy with him. But one former Dolphins receiver wishes Parker would take him up on his offer to do more.

Former Pro Bowl receiver Chris Chambers, who runs Chamber Fitness in Davie — a facility that has trained a bunch of NFL players and many others — said he has reached out to Parker “several times to offer my assistance to speed up his growth curve” but never heard back.

I don’t think Parker gets to contract 2 with Miami.

Maybe maybe not. All depends on his asking price and what other teams are willing to pay for his service. If he's looking of $8 to $10 million, somewhere between Stills' and Amendola's deals I would take him in a heart beat. If h's looking for big number 1 receiver dollars I might pass.

I don't know why, but it rubs me wrong when an ex-player throws a player under the bus for not doing what they want the player to do, especially when the ex-player stood to benefit financially from his suggestion. So is parker supposed to work with every ex-player that ask him too? I know Parker has worked with other people before, so I don't think it was a case of him not wanting to put in the work, just not wanting to put in the work with Chambers.

Love me some Chris Chambers. He was a good player. My guess is that Chris Chambers is selling his service, which is one of many similar pay services to help athletes train. I seem to recall Jarvis Landry used Chris Carter's service also down there in Florida. I don't know Parker's rationale, but maybe he has a training regimen and wants to stay with the people he has hired, rather than get pitched on buying a different service. Just pure speculation on my part, I have no idea of his rationale.

Isnt some sort of response a bit more respectful of Chambers...?

It doesn't take much effort to respond back that you are not interested.
A bit immature not to respond at all IMO.

To a degree, but I'm sure players get pitched a lot of programs and offers from a lot of people and just disregards some. Sort of like all the junk mail homeowners get overing different services. I know I don't respond to many of the offers. If I'm not interested I just toss it in the trash.

Dudes a slacker plain and simple. Apparently he thinks doing some work for a couple months then taking the season off due to “injuries” will get him somewhere. It won’t.

I think you're assuming that since he didn't work with Chambers he's not working with anybody. Everything I've heard about Parker says he's not a player that doesn't put in work.

I haven’t heard that at all. I’ve heard some coach speak that says he’s doing better, but they’ve also said he doesn’t eat right and sleep enough, which shows on game day when he looks very low energy on the field. There’s also been teammates saying he should be doing things he’s not. I hope he proves me wrong but I hoped for that the last two years. Last year he looked like he had lost all of his confidence. He got beat to his spot so many times it’s a wonder he even played at all at the end of the season.

Not sure how to take this but it seems maybe Parker doesn't want to put in the effort? I hope that's not the case but either way this has to be the year he makes it happen or he'll be gone

I think he resolved the eating and sleeping thing after his rookie year. It was brought up during otas and training camp between his rookie and 2nd season I believe. I haven't heard coaches bring that up the past two seasons.

Once DVP is gone it will be like

unrealized potential was just an illusion.

If we couldn't find the $$$ for Jarvis (Mr. Landry) how in the flying fruck could we

ever pay this [fill in the blank expletive under performer piece of chit big $$$]

I know. Just my opinion.

I cant wait til DVP is gone. Not cause of this article. He is lazy and i been saying this 4 years. All he does is show flashes. I dont want a #1 WR that just shows flashes and gets hurt. I want DVP to prove me wrong but i doubt he will. He wont be a Dolphin after this coming year. Its more looking like that
