I actually liked both of them but was ready to go younger at LB Burnett couldn't keep up with RB & TE not saying Wheeler was a whole lot better but he is more athletic. Smith was so inconsistent so I wouldn't have minded resigning him at the time but Grimes is a big time upgrade. I hope Burnett gets signed still could be good depth as 2 down LB.

He only calls him Mr. Burnett now after he punked his ass in front of everybody

Bring him in for a camp battle. Competition breeds better ball players, at least good competition does.

Smith is a great athlete and I had high hopes for him after that first pre season circus INT in the end zone. I have never seen a defender or receiver catch a ball that way. Really thought it might be a sign of things to come, but unfortunately not. And then came teh drops a couple of years ago. Good straight line speed, but I don't think he is enough of a change of direction guy to shadow receivers like top CB's do.

Kevin Burnett was not terrible,* but I still like that we tried to upgrade and get cheaper at the same time. Only problem is, we didn't upgrade.

* But he was pretty friggin' bad at times.

It also didn't help when Nolan lined him up with the Wes Welker type of players... SMH, Smith needs to be on tall slower WR not on the speedy ones.

Sean Smith, the man with 1 big play during his rookie season.....during preseason. A semi has a quicker turning radius than that dude!
