Heat guard Dwyane Wade hasn't spoken with his former coach, Stan Van Gundy, much lately.

But that doesn't mean Van Gundy is far from Wade's thoughts.

Wade still speaks with great respect for Van Gundy, who resigned in December citing personal and family reasons. Van Gundy coached Wade and Udonis Haslem for two-plus seasons, since they were rookies in Miami for the 2003-04 season.

"I don't talk to coach, but of course he's a part of it," Wade said Sunday. "He's part of my development, part of Udonis' development, a big part of this whole organization. So as we win, he wins, and I'm sure as we lose, he loses.
He feels the same way, so Coach Van Gundy will always be a big part of what goes on in Miami.

Van Gundy hasn't appeared at a Heat game since his resignation; he's still under contract with the organization, and respectfully declined an offer from owner Micky Arison to attend the finals.

i think this is one of the biggest mysteries of the year

Here is what I think happened:

Pat Riley told Van Gundy if you just disappear for the rest of the year and not "rock the boat" we will add "something something" for you as a parting gift....like maybe a million dollars? You never see or hear from Stan...I don't think he has even been at of the NBA Final's Games for a reason ($$$). I think it is sad how they just pushed him aside.

Apparently he's scouting for the Heat. But they denied TV's request for him for analyst jobs.

Pat wanted all the glory for himself.

Slow music starts playing

'Stan im sorry I was blind....you are always on my mind....you are always on....my mind'

Stan was a great coach for the Heat, people forget what he did for that team Wade's rookie year. And even last year, I mean I believe he was outcoached by Brown a little bit when it counted but he still did a magnificent job with that team. He definetly will be a coach again in this league IMO. I feel bad for him because I feel if Brown was still the coach of Detroit, Riley and the Heat may not of beaten the Pistons either, well at least with not so much ease.

I dont think he got outcoached by Brown...you have to remember Wade missed game 6 and was really hurt game 7, so that had to make it real tough on Stan

(For the record of course I know Larry is a FAR better or at least more accomplished coach than Stan)
