Good article on Mueller written by a seahawks fan. For those of you that don't know, Mueller began his front office career with the seahawks, before signing with the Saints.

It looks like this article was written before Mueller signed with us (2 years ago). It gives us an insight on what we should expect with Mueller. I was one of those Fans that was running out of patience with Mueller, but this article somewhat put me at ease (at least for the time being).

The reality is that all of Mueller's top selections in each draft he has run are solid, if not star level players. Some are Pro Bowlers and all are still in the league. When you throw in the trades he has made, it's not outrageous to suggest that Mueller is the best GM in the NFL over the past six or seven seasons. A team that listed Aaron Brooks, Ahman Green, Deuce McAlister, Joey Galloway, Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth, Pete Kendal, Todd Weiner, Chad Brown, Anthony Simmons, Shawn Springs, Walter Jones, Phillip Daniels and Norman Hand among its starters would have to be considered a solid playoff team if not a Super Bowl contender. The contrast to current Seahawks GM Mike Holmgren's record, not to mention other well known and admired GM's (quick, who traded Marshall Faulk for a 2nd and a 5th in 1999? Bill Polian) is striking to say the least.

Mueller's a pretty decent drafter but he needs to do a bit better on FA. But putting a 2nd on Welker was genius even if he is our only consistent WR. Should've put a 1st and a 3rd while he was at it.

Yeah Norman was drafted by Miami but he later was signed by the Saints...

It's a nice article but I'm not concerned about what Mueller has done through out his career. I only care about what he is doing or going to do for Miami.

I find it's a waste of time to get hyped up about a guy based on his past achievements. Why? Jimmy Johnson. Ricky Williams. Daunte Culpepper. Sometimes it seems Miami is the place where bad luck vacations. He must like the weather.

So, until Mueller get's it done for us, he's just another guy. We are all hoping we have that same Mueller from the article in office and that the magic hasn't faded away.

I could be wrong, but I severely doubt that the Pats or any team for that matter would have even considered Welker for a 1 & 3.

IMO, a 2 for Welker is tremendous value. <-- That 2 may halp us jump up and aquire Joe Thomas(doubt it), Calvin Johnson(probably not), Brady Quinn(possibility) or help us jump back into the late first round for Ryan Kalil(sweet), Greg Olsen(might not fall to the late first), will give us more comfort in selecting Drew Stanton perhaps earlier then he should go(40) because we have the extra 2nd round pick(60).

I think both teams come out winners on this deal with Miami getting more value than expected for Wes and the Pats overspending by some margin.

I feel good about letting Randy do this his way.

He is already beginning to show me more intelligence as a GM than we've had here in a long long time.

We know for certain that Spielman and Saban weren't getting it done. Mueller has been working to get the team where it should be (we've already managed to recoup the lost picks from last year, and it's only 3 days into FA). At least we're loading the gun this time for the draft, instead of throwing away our picks in trades for known bad commodities.

Exactly!
