Hmm, interesting comments from preseason. All that preseason optimism. i have to admit I was interested in what Reggie would do in Miami.. or what Miami would do with him.

Even some of my own comments look foolish now, like "i think Seasn payton didn't utilize him as well as he could have". Now it seems SP utilized him very well.

And to DearbornDolfan, I think it's safe to say my Saints are by far the superior team.

Cool thanks for stopping by.

I think we should win some games before expecting people to say how talented we are. At least 1 game.

Reggie Bush (Run/Pass ratio)

Saints- 1.8/1
Dolphins- 3.1/1

We can argue about how bad Reggie is all day but it's pretty obvious to everyone that the Dolphins are misusing him. Why are so many more of touches off of runs (usually between the tackles) than they ever were with the Saints? We all know he's a below average rusher and a very good reiving rb. That is not news to anyone.

I get that we pass so much less than the Saints, but no stylistic difference can explain such a vast difference in his use. We made the decision to sign the guy and have done nothing to put him in position to succeed. I was not thrilled about his signing, but I know he's better than this. His role with this team has been one of the worst examples of player mismanagment I have ever seen.

The Dolphins offense isn't the Saints offense. The Saints have a featured back. The Saints have a better o-line. The Saints have a better QB.

Thomas was out which left Bush to carry the load.

Swiss cheese o-line has limited the Dolphins offense.

Having Brees opens up the field. Henne doesn't put that same fear into a defense.

Hold down the right side of the line, give the QB time to make big plays, that opens up room to take advantage of Bush.

The coaches aren't complete idiots. They have to play with what they have. The Dolphins aren't in a position to use Bush like he was used by the Saints.

I'm blaming the GM in addition to the coaches. Why were we ever in a position where Bush and a rookie were our only 2 options at rb? Still, the run blocking does seem to get a whole lot better when we put DT in the game.

Bush is not a traditional rb, and should never be used as one.

In his one good game against NE he had 9 receptions. He's had 4 total in the last three games. If the coaches' are not idiots, they sure are using Bush like they're a bunch of 'em.
