Peter Schrager from Fox Sports has the Dolphins picking USC LB Clay Matthews in the first round :

"25. Miami: Clay Matthews, LB, USC, Senior
Three USC linebackers taken in the first round? Yes, sir. Joey Porter isn't getting any younger and Bill Parcells likes to build his team with defensive rocks leading the way. This may be a bit high for Matthews — I've read elsewhere that he's a late second/early third round pick — but with good lineage (father is Clay Matthews; uncle is Bruce), don't be shocked if he's scooped up at 25."

And with our second round picks :

44. Miami: Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland, Junior

and

56. Miami: Mike Mickens, CB, Cincinnati, Senior

Thoughts?

I would take virtually every player between 26 and 44 over Clay Matthews in that mock. Most notably, Clint Sintim, Duke Robinson, Robert Ayers, Louis Delmas, Alex Mack, Hakeem Nicks and Percy Harvin.

However, I do like Heyward-Bey and Mickens as 2a and 2b.

Isn't Robert Ayers like a liberal terrorist or something?

Haha, that would be William Ayers, and I have him going to the raiders.

Oh smack! Them Raiders better watch their players' kids...Ayers is after their minds....

Probably the worst professional mock i have ever seen. we are adding a player who has talent sorrounding him all over, and who has virtauly no choice but to succeed with our 25th pick, a crappy 3rd-4th receiver who has been slipping ever since the start of the season and nickleback. holes filled-0.

give me delmas with 25, ron brace with 44 and unger/wood with the 2b. then go cb/ilb/ol depth for the rest. a starting FS, NT depth/future started and a olineman that can play any position well.

Did nobody notice he had Michael Johnson falling to the Giants.

I would be amazed if the Fins picked up Matthews ahead of Johnson.

I like Clay Matthews, but NOT in the first round. Give me the guy who can come in and contribute as a 3-4 OLB right away in Clint Sintim.

I don't know much about this Matthews guy but any LB from USC is usually good.

Correct me if im wrong.
